From classic video games to more modern games, we have seen many different women with unique abilities. Especially in more recent years, fans have been given games with female leads that are powerful in their own way. Even though not every woman on this list has mystical powers, some of them are strong enough to battle supernatural enemies despite being normal themselves.

There are many women in games to choose from, but this list is focused on women that have managed to make a name for themselves in the gaming world, based on who is the most powerful of the bunch comparing their in-game abilities, and what they've been proven capable of.

Ellie (The Last of Us)

Ellie The Last of Us

Ellie may be the youngest girl on this list, but fans did watch her grow up in the series. She's also capable of fending for herself against zombies and even fully armed adults. Not only that but the fact that she's immune to the zombie bite makes her even more worthy of making this list.

She may not be the best fighter but she really proves herself and shows that she's capable of using a variety of weapons and doing whatever it takes to ensure her survival.

Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)

Jill Valentine looks confused in Resident Evil 3

There are many strong women in the Resident Evil games, but Jill Valentine has endured so much, and she's one of the original characters of the series. In Resident Evil 3, she was incredibly tough despite being under pressure the whole game.

She was one of the main playable characters in the first Resident Evil game and even later in the series she was used as a weapon against her former partner Chris Redfield. In Resident Evil 5, she was a very challenging boss, giving a challenge to both Chris and Sheva.

Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)

Lara Croft Doing Archery

Lara Croft doesn't have any super abilities, which is honestly quite unbelievable considering everything she has achieved over the course of the Tomb Raider games.

In many of the Tomb Raider games, she's all by herself in mysterious, unique islands, that often involve magic and creatures with far more abilities than her. Even though it sounds like she would be at a huge disadvantage, she still manages to fight waves of armed men all by herself, defeat powerful and enhanced bosses, and solve some of the most confusing puzzles.

Abigail Walker (Infamous: First Light)

Abigail Walker Infamous: First Light

Abigail Walker from Infamous: First Light has a unique ability that allows her to control sources of light. She can steal light from different things, such as cars or neon signs.

Once Abigail absorbs the light, she can do a variety of things, such as shoot it from her hands, run at light speed, she can also create a ball of light that brings enemies closer, and then it explodes. Abigail is fast and powerful, but she's more of a street fighter who's not really trained, which is why she's not higher on the list.

D.Va (Overwatch)

D.Va Overwatch

Overwatch is a game that's full of strong women, but D.Va is one character that can always be found on the enemy team. Even though she doesn't have any superpowers of her own, her mech is so strong that she proves to be a challenge for characters that have otherwordly powers.

She's at a slight disadvantage once her mech breaks, but even then, her pistol is strong enough to take out enemies and she's small enough to sneak around and take out opponents from behind.

Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn)

Aloy Horizon Zero Dawn

Aloy certainly deserves to be placed above D.Va because her abilities are solely based on the fact that she hunts machines. She doesn't have supernatural powers, but she's a strong fighter and she's smart enough to take down machines that are ten times her size.

Even though she's a hunter that mostly relies on a bow and arrow rather than automatic weapons, she has no problems taking down enemies that many wouldn't expect a girl of her stature capable of fighting.

Jodie (Beyond: Two Souls)

Elliot Page in the video game Beyond Two Souls

Jodie from Beyond: Two Souls is so powerful that she was wanted for the military and even for experiments. Her connection to a spirit makes her capable of targeting enemies that are distant from her. She can have items thrown across a room and even harm people that are on the floor above her.

In addition to her powers, she's also military trained so even without using her abilities, Jodie is still a major threat and can hold her own in a fight.

Wraith (Apex Legends)

Wraith Apex Legends

Ever since Apex Legends first came out, it was clear Wraith would be one of the strongest players in the game. Her teleporting abilities help her move so fast that it's hard to track where she's going at times, making it easy for her to sneak up behind enemies and do serious damage.

Her phase ability makes her bulletproof, making her hard to do damage on, even more so since she hears voices in her head that always alert her when an enemy has eyes on her.

Jesse Faden (Control)

Jesse Faden

In Control, there's something called the object of power which contains the multiple abilities that Jesse Faden is capable of using. Even though she starts out with limited power, she's able to develop many strong abilities through the course of the game.

Some of her powers include telekinetic abilities that allow her to lift and throw items, she can also create an invisible barrier that is used as a shield to protect herself. She's also able to levitate off the ground, which helps her move much faster.

Kronika (Mortal Kombat)

Kronika Mortal Kombat

Kronika from Mortal Kombat is severely overpowered and undoubtedly the strongest girl in the Mortal Kombat games. She was able to fight a mortal God, which is an opponent to such a high standard that no one else on the list has fought against. She also nearly wiped out the entire multiverse.

Kronika has powers that allow her to take control of time and manipulate the world, she's like the Scarlet Witch of video games, but she's probably even stronger.
