Vigilante is living up to his name in the new Peacemaker series on HBO Max, bringing another unique character to life in the DCEU. Marvel Comics is full of vigilante characters as well, and arguably has some of the most iconic and most powerful. Moon Knight will introduce one of Marvel Comics' most powerful vigilantes to the MCU, and many more are sure to be close behind — Blade is already confirmed for the near future.
Some vigilantes have superpowers, while many have only their will and determination to seek justice. Either way, they make for some of Marvel's most compelling heroes — and antiheroes.
Blade
Blade is committed to hunting down vampires and protecting the world from their supernatural threat. He does so with several advantages. He's immune to vampire bites thanks to his mother being pregnant with him when she was bitten by a vampire.
He also has superhuman strength, stamina, and speed, all a product of being bitten by Morbius, the Living Vampire. Blade is one of the best swordfighters in the Marvel Universe and is an expert with almost any weapon, including the wooden stake.
Black Cat
Comic book fans know Black Cat as a burglar, but she's also operated as a vigilante in numerous instances. She's one of the most powerful in Marvel Comics thanks to her unique probability powers, which cause bad luck for anyone trying to come after her.
This gives her an enormous advantage over any potential enemy regardless of their power or skill, as Peter Parker found out numerous times. She's also an exceptional athlete and hand-to-hand combatant, and one of the most resourceful characters in the world of Spider-Man.
Morbius, The Living Vampire
Morbius, the Living Vampire has most of the attributes of a vampire, including enhanced strength, speed, and agility. He also has night vision and echolocation, both of which appear to be elements of his powers in the upcoming Morbius movie from Sony.
Comic book fans know Morbius is a gifted doctor and a genius scientist, setting him apart from other vigilantes who fight against crime on their own. His medical expertise has led to positive benefits for others, including Spider-Man, whom Mobius cured of having six arms.
Cloak And Dagger
Cloak and Dagger started off their superhero career going after the drug dealers and criminals who were responsible for their developing superpowers. Cloak can open doorways to the Darkforce Dimension and travel through it or leave people stranded there.
Dagger can create daggers from the Lightforce. These daggers not only are deadly offensive weapons but also drain victims of their energy. Those powers make both characters among the most powerful vigilantes in Marvel Comics.
Daredevil
Daredevil can't open doorways to other dimensions, but he is one of the best martial artists in Marvel Comics. Matt Murdock's expert skill in a variety of fighting styles and types of weapons makes him an equal for ostensibly more powerful villains like the Kingpin.
He also possesses a radar sense that allows him to compensate for his blindness. Combined with his intelligence and determination to protect Hell's Kitchen, he has few equals among the vigilantes in Marvel Comics.
Spider-Man
Spider-Man by definition is a vigilante, a character taking justice into his own hands outside of the law. He's also one of the most powerful in Marvel Comics, with superhuman strength, speed, and agility that make him an incredible acrobat and fighter.
He can also shoot webs and possesses Spider-Sense, which allows him to perceive threats before they can strike. This gives him the jump on the majority of his villains, though some are more powerful than he is in many respects.
Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider has supernatural powers he brings into every battle, including the Penance Stare, which causes enormous pain to the soul of a person as long as Ghost Rider looks at them. In all of his iterations, he is virtually indestructible.
Ghost Rider is also super strong and fast, especially on his trademark motorcycle, imbued with its own mystical prowess. He can summon chains from his hands and his entire body, making him a one-man supernatural army.
Venom
Venom became a vigilante in the early '90s, protecting the homeless and other vulnerable people. He is incredibly strong and durable, virtually unstoppable in a fight even with other superpowered characters. He is immune to Spider-Sense as well.
Venom is able to change shape and size by virtue of the alien symbiote and can generate spikes, blades, and other weapons from his own body. He also possesses a universal knowledge far beyond any human hero and is immune to many forms of supernatural attack including Ghost Rider's Penance Stare.
Moon Knight
Moon Knight is immortal above all, making him one of the most powerful vigilantes in comic books. Comic book fans know Moon Knight derives his powers from the Egyptian deity Khonshu, who is the God of the Moon. Moon Knight is also an expert martial artist and trained in the use of many different weapons.
He also traditionally brings an enormous amount of wealth and resources to his vigilantism. His Steven Grant persona is a billionaire and Moon Knight often uses the Mooncopter and other advanced weapons and vehicles in his fight against crime.
The Punisher
The Punisher has no superpowers at all, but Frank Castle is arguably the most powerful vigilante in Marvel Comics due to sheer willpower. His determination to seek vengeance for his murdered family has driven him to wage a one-man war against organized crime that is in many ways more successful than any on the part of more powerful heroes.
He's an expert in myriad weapons, a highly trained soldier, and an elite martial artist. He's also highly disciplined mentally and physically and is resistant to most if not all forms of torture and coercion, including in some cases, telepathic probes.
