Even with the Star Wars comic crossover event Crimson Reign in full swing, Marvel writer, Charles Soule, has already confirmed The Hidden Empire, his third and final Star Wars crossover.

Powerful charaters from across the Star Wars comics universe are bound to make appearances, hailing from titles such as Star Wars, Darth Vader, Dr. Aphra, and Bounty Hunters. But what does it mean to be powerful? To be a powerful character, they must be skilled in combat, influence, and overall survivability.

Sava Medelin Sun

The Archivist in the Star Wars Comics.

A recent addition to the Star Wars comics canon, much of Sava Medelin Sun’s abilities are still shrouded in darkness. Slightly force-sensitive, Sun is unable to use the force in the ways Jedi and Sith do. Highly educated in the ways of the force, Sun was even trained by Jedi Master Yoda.

While not physically threatening, her knowledge is her power. Recently joining forces with Lady Qi’ra, Sun now has access to Crimson Dawn’s vast resources, which include powerful Sith artifacts. Sun’s knowledge will be useful to Crimson Dawn in battling both Jedi and Sith. Sun is a powerful ally, but due to her lack of physical abilities, she is far from the most powerful.

Jedi Master Kirak Infil’a

Kirak Infil'a using his lightsaber in Star Wars

Armed with a green lightsaber and a specialist in lightsaber combat, Jedi Master Kirak Infil’a was able to survive the Jedi purge. Even after cutting himself off from the force and disappearing on the planet of Al’doleem, it wasn’t long before Darth Vader turned up at his doorstep.

Infil’a’s most impressive moment was defeating a damaged Vader in combat (even though Vader does eventually get his revenge). Darth Vader’s menacing presence is felt throughout all the current Star Wars comics, so Infil’a being able to hold his own against him is impressive. Though Infil’a was a very powerful Jedi, any sort of resurrection seems improbable, leaving the once-powerful Infil’a not so powerful anymore.

Darth Momin

Darth Momin surrounded by lightning in the comics.

The ancient Sith Darth Momin had been long dead by the time Darth Vader received his mask from Sidious as a gift. But Momin’s spirit lived on through the mask, allowing him to possess the bodies of individuals. He was able to fully resurrect his original body but was beaten by Darth Vader.

Because Momin’s spirit is still trapped within his helmet, there is still a chance of his return to the current conflict within Star Wars comics. Crimson Dawn does have access to Sith artifacts- what are the chances that Momin’s helmet is in their collection? But Momin having been defeated before reduces his intimidation factor as well as his power levels.

Ren

The original Knights of Ren from the comics.

Leader of the Knights of Ren, Ren used the dark side of the force to steal Jedi and Sith artifacts across the galaxy. Even though Ren was skilled in lightsaber combat, he lost a duel to Luke Skywalker and was soon killed by Ben Solo, who later takes control of the Knights of Ren as Kylo Ren.

Currently, Ren is alive, and working for Crimson Dawn. Because he will be defeated decades after the events of both Crimson Reign and The Hidden Empire, Ren will not be killed during these conflicts. Currently, Ren’s body lacks the large scars as seen in the Kylo Ren series. Will Ren be defeated in the pages of The Hidden Empire and suffer these wounds?

Beilert Valance

Beilert Valance looking angry in the Star Wars comics.

Ex-imperial turned bounty hunter Beilert Valance is more machine than man. His cybernetic eye not only allows him to see in complete darkness but serves as a  targeting computer. His most notable and powerful weapon is his palm blaster, which can be fired directly from his hand.

Due to his cybernetic parts, Valance is able to take on more damage than the average person and walk out of impossible situations others couldn't. But during the War of the Bounty Hunters event, Valance was severely wounded by Boba Fett and had to be rebuilt by Darth Vader. Valence used to be the star of the comic Bounty Hunters but isn’t as prevalent anymore. Is Valance’s end near?

Dr. Aphra

Doctor Aphra riding a bike on the cover of a Star Wars comic.

Dr. Chelli Aphra is far more than just the ‘Indiana Jones’ of the Star Wars universe. Equipped with cybernetic implants, Aphra is an excerpt slicer. What she lacks in physicality is made up for in her wit, intelligence, and ruthlessness. With allies by her side like Black Krrsantan, Triple Zero, and BT-1, Aphra is a powerful adversary.

Aphra’s most powerful trait is her survivability. Aphra has even survived encounters with traditionally powerful characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Even Jedi Master Kirak Infil’a and Darth Momin, characters who may seem more powerful than her, both fell to Vader. Aphra’s popularity also ensures her survival, though comics writers may decide to use that for a shocking twist.

Ochi Of Bestoon

Blended image of Ochi of Bestoon in the movies and the comics.

Skilled in all forms of weaponry, Ochi of Bestoon uses both blasters and blades to accomplish his missions. Used by both Darth Vader and Darth Sidious in various capacities, he has accompanied the former on numerous missions across the galaxy. In the pages of Darth Vader, Ochi has defeated some of the best assassins in the galaxy.

Ochi will survive the events of these comics, as he is most known for murdering Rey’s parents in The Rise of Skywalker. Due to his split loyalty concerning Crimson Dawn and the Empire, Ochi will be put into deadly situations- situations he must survive. This alone makes Ochi a powerful character, though he isn’t as hardcore as the next.

Black Krrsantan

The wookie Black Krrsantan looking menacing in the Star Wars comics.

Cutting his teeth in brutal gladiatorial battles, Black Krrsantan has proven himself time and time again to be one of the baddest and most capable bounty hunters out there. Armed with blasters, knives, and electrified brass knuckles, Black Krrsantan is the most dangerous bounty hunter in Star Wars comics.

Krrsantan has worked with powerful individuals in the Star Wars universe, like Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Dr. Aphra. Because of his appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, his survival is guaranteed. Compared to the other warriors and bounty hunters on this list, Krrsantan has the best chance of defeating them all in combat and walking away with nothing but a scratch.

Qi'ra

Qi'Ra in a Star Wars comic.

The leader of the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn, Lady Qi’ra has positioned herself to become one of the most powerful individuals in the galaxy. Trained in combat by Darth Maul, Qi’ra held her ground even against Darth Vader. However, her leadership skills and influence over others make her truly powerful.

The sheer size and scope of Crimson Dawn make whoever controls it more powerful than mere individuals. Qi’ra holds the knowledge of Sava Medelin Sun, the fighting abilities of Ren and his warriors, and even the loyalty of Ochi of Bestoon under her control. Countless assassins, bounty hunters, and warriors serve only her. With Qi’ra as its leader, Crimson Dawn only continues to expand its power across the galaxy.

Eye Of Webbish Bog

Eye of Webbish Bog in a Star Wars comic.

The ancient Eye of Webbish Bog resides on the lava planet of Mustafar. Those who encounter the Eye of Webbish Bog are said to never be seen again, which implies that the Eye has the ability to destroy its opponents entirely. The Eye also has the ability to distort a person’s perception of reality, creating vivid hallucinations.

This creature is similar to the powerful and mystical force-wielding being known as the Bendu, seen in Star Wars: Rebels. Last seen in the pages of Darth Vader it is very possible that Vader will call upon the Eye once more for guidance. If the Eye is anything like the Bendu, killing the Eye should prove to be impossible for any hero or villain who encounters it.
