The cast of Nine Perfect Strangers is certainly an interesting bunch. It's full of varied characters that have very different backgrounds from one another. However, despite their interesting quirks, many of them are very likable characters overall.

Some characters are likable from the start, and others grow to be much more enjoyable throughout the show. Some also just have viewers feeling bad for them, causing them to like them as an underdog. Nevertheless, they all bring a unique quality to the table that makes viewers take to them.

Carmel

Lars and Carmel talking by a large tree in Nine Perfect Strangers

Of the main cast, Carmel is one of the least likable characters. While one might start to feel bad for her at first, it quickly becomes apparent that she isn't as soft and light as she paints herself out to be. In fact, she's an incredibly violent person who has done many bad things in her life. While she redeems herself in the end, throughout most of the series, Carmel is someone dangerous to watch out for.

Ben

Nine Perfect Stranger's Ben talking in the hot tub

Ben isn't exactly an unlikable character. Rather, he's just one of the least developed characters in the series. Viewers really don't get much of a chance to see how Ben acts and his character. When viewers do get to see Ben, however, he generally seems to be a pretty nice person who doesn't hold much anger toward anyone. He only grows closer with his wife Jessica throughout the show, which also shows off his sweeter side.

Lars

Zoe and Lars compete in a sack race in Nine Perfect Strangers

Lars is a character that comes off as incredibly rude early on in the series, and that's because he is. He initially pushes people away and really only makes friends with Zoe, and Lars'actions don't seem to make any sense. However, as the series progresses and the microdosing begins, he starts to open up.

As viewers learn about Lars and everything he's been through, his behavior becomes a bit more understandable. Additionally, he also generally starts being more empathetic toward everyone on the show, which just makes him a much more pleasant person overall.

Delilah

Delilah and Yao in Nine Perfect Strangers

Delilah is one of the most reasonable characters on Nine Perfect Strangers. Throughout the show, she's constantly challenging Masha on how she runs the group because she knows that what is happening isn't right. In terms of Tranquillum staff members, she's the only one who doesn't do what Masha says without fail. Her actual concern for the guests, rather than her own selfish needs, makes her very likable.

Jessica

Nine Perfect Strangers Samara Weaving Jessica Chandler

Jessica, just like her husband Ben, doesn't get as much development on the show compared to other characters like Tony and Frances. However, anytime she does come on screen, she's a delight. She's at Tranquillum to save her marriage, and is very genuine when it comes to discussing it and her own personal issues. She's never judgmental or rude. All-in-all, she's a nice person who is doing the best that she can in her circumstances, making her a very likable person.

Tony

Tony First Meeting Frances In Nine Perfect Strangers

Tony, just like other characters on the show, comes off as a bit abrasive early on in the show becuase, just like other characters, he's not very kind. He's harsh to be around in general. However, as his relationship with Frances grows and viewers learn more about him, things change.

Overall, Tony becomes a much kinder and relaxed person following his stay at Tranquillum. He manages to settle down with Frances and reconnect with his daughters. While Tony has a rough start in the beginning, he has a fantastic arc throughout the show's run.

Masha

Masha at a table in Nine Perfect Strangers

Nicole Kidman's Masha is a bit hard to pinpoint. What she's doing to her guests is helping them face their issues head-on, though everything that she does is also self-serving. Dubious methods with provable results. However, viewers can't help but be drawn in by Masha.

Her loving atmosphere makes her someone that viewers just want to trust and believe in, regardless of their doubts. She's caring and authoritative, and is an interesting character that viewers can't help but like as the show continues to progress.

Napoleon

Napoleon and Zoe by the fire in Nine Perfect Strangers

Napoleon might be a bit strange at times, but he's a kind person who genuinely wants nothing but for his family to heal from the loss of his son, Zach. He seems to have taken his son's death better than Heather and somewhat better than Zoe, and attempts to try and help his family heal and move on from Zach as much as they can. All of his actions are selfless throughout the show, proving that he wants nothing more than to put his family back together, making him a very likable character.

Zoe

Zoe in Nine Perfect Strangers

Just like her father Napoleon, Zoe is a caring person who wants to help her family move on from the death of Zach. However, beyond just her family, she forms bonds with other Tranquillum guests such as Lars and Frances. She's easy to get along with and become a friend of. While everyone goes through ups and downs on the show, Zoe consistently is a breath of fresh air on the mysterious Nine Perfect Strangers.

Frances

Frances (Melissa McCarthy) enjoying water at Tranquillum on Nine Perfect Strangers

Much of Nine Perfect Strangers follows Frances, and for good reason. She's a well-developed character that is very easy to like. While she's gone through horrible things in the past, she never takes it out on anyone else. She's always willing to try and help others solve their problems before her own. She's a kind person through and through, making her an incredibly likable character.
