There have been plenty of chaotic moments in The Real Housewives of New York City. It's a notoriously messy installment of The Real Housewives franchise, constantly providing hilariously memorable moments. But some stick out more than others.
With RHONY about to face a total cast overhaul, fans are reminiscing on past seasons of the show. In season 10, it seemed Ramona Singer had had enough of Bethenny and it was one of the very few times she used her voice to stand up for herself against her. On the sidewalk of a busy New York street, Ramona didn't hold back, hurling cutting words at Bethenny over the phone about how she doesn't support women in their endeavors. Adding to the chaos was Ramona's dog Coco, who strayed onto the road a few times during the call. Bethenny was left practically speechless and before she could get a word in, Ramona cut her off and hung up.
Dorinda Medley stabbing herself
During a relatively low-drama trip to Mexico for Bethenny's Skinnygirl brand, the women spent an entire day drinking tequila. At the end of the day, when Bethenny wondered where everyone was for dinner, Dorinda Medley had a few more drinks than the rest of the cast and wasn't interested in Bethenny's attitude. As she tried to articulate her frustration through drunken slurring, Bethenny and Tinsley Mortimer took the opportunity to comically conduct her words like an orchestra, and as Dorinda grabbed tightly on to a knife at the dinner table, she stabbed herself and drew blood, immediately prompting Bethenny and Tinsley to come to her aid.
Sonja Morgan's caburlesque
Sonja Morgan was known throughout RHONY as someone who never shied away from a potentially lucrative business venture. Toaster ovens, a clothing line, and a drink line were all things Sonja decided to pursue. She also dabbled in performance, and in season 6 as part of an LGBT charity event she presented a cabaret and burlesque show...which she affectionately called "caburlesque." Sonja wandered about the stage in the show, delivering sultry, spoken word lines while the housewives – and other attendees – watched on in delighted confusion.
Kelly Bensimon's Scary Island meltdown
Undeniably chaotic in the most literal sense was the Scary Island episode of RHONY season 3 – in particular a memorable dinner where Kelly Bensimon was convinced that Bethenny was after her. As Kelly vented her frustrations to an unbothered Bethenny, things unraveled fast and Sonja sat by Kelly, trying to understand and stand up for her as she was ridiculed. When Kelly told Bethenny she thought Bethenny was trying to kill her, Bethenny responded with what is now an iconic moment in The Real Housewives history, saying “go to sleep! Go to sleep! You're crazy!”
As The Real Housewives of New York City prepares for a cast facelift, it's fun to reminisce about the pure chaos of the 13 seasons of RHONY fans have been given thus far. The show has radiated chaotic energy from its beginnings, in more than just the literal sense. Fans hope and pray that the new version of the show can deliver just as much.
