While we don't have official release dates for a number of the upcoming Star Wars projects (not counting rumored franchises from and films from Rian Johnson and others yet to be officially announced), fans have already begun to explore their excitement for each new movie and series with user-generated tier lists, polls, and discussions on Reddit that we'll explore today.

A Droid Story

R2-D2 and C-3P0 in Star Wars

While there is no doubt love for the long-time franchise heroes C-3PO and R2-D2 who will star in the upcoming Star Wars: A Droid Story animated movie. there isn't much buzz about the upcoming project among Redditors.

This is likely due to there already being no shortage of droid stories featuring Threepio and Artoo for fans to enjoy, while some of the other recently announced movies and series will explore new eras and characters. A Droid Story is still likely to be a hit as it is slated to introduce a new presumably loveable droid character to the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: Visions

One of the most interesting upcoming projects that one Redditor claimed "isn’t getting the hype it deserves" is Star Wars: Visions, which didn't rank too high on many fans' personal lists but remains an exciting addition to the Star Wars universe.

Visions will be an anthology series of anime short films from a number of visionary Japanese creators and studios who are sure to leave their own marks on the Star Wars universe when it lands on Disney+.

Rangers Of The New Republic

The Mandalorian re-introduced classic favorites while also adding a number of new characters into the Star Wars universe following the events of Return of the Jedi, and the second season teamed the formation of the Rangers of the New Republic.

The new live-action series is from The Mandalorian creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni and promises to tie-in to the developing story that is being created by related spin-offs on Disney+, though it hasn't gained as much buss yet as some of the other series, though that is likely to change once more is revealed about the series.

The Bad Batch

The new animated series from Clone Wars showrunner Dave Filoni will follow the group of experimental Clone Troopers known as Clone Force 99/The Bad Batch who were introduced during the final season, each with a unique selective mutation that gave them an enhanced ability. There's definitely buzz for the upcoming spin-off, it's just been overshadowed a bit by new announcements.

Lando

Donald Glover and Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian

Fans were excitedly shocked by the announcement of an upcoming Lando series on Disney+ that has raised a number of questions among fans, with one hyped Redditor revealing they were "thrilled at the possibilities."

With two different eras of Lando Calrissian represented on the big screen by Billy Dee Willaims and Donald Glover, fans aren't quite sure which direction the series will go in, though a storyline for the elder Lando was teased in 2019's The Rise of Skywalker that could give fans an idea of what we might see in the upcoming series.

The Book Of Boba Fett

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale

The second season of The Mandalorian ended with a post-credit tease of an upcoming series called The Book of Boba Fett, which showed Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand's (Ming-Na Wen) takeover of Jabba's former palace on Tattoine.

The Book of Boba Fett ranked high in polls, tier charts, and discussions and highlights the general excitement over the return of Boba Fett, whose buzz has steadily grown since his debut in the original trilogy despite his apparent death in Return of the Jedi.

Andor

Cassian Andor in Rogue One A Star Wars Story

Another series that was announced prior to the conclusion of The Mandalorian's second season was Andor, which will follow Rogue One's Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) prior to the events of his debut film as he becomes a valued member of the rebellion.

The success of Rogue One has been hailed as one of the most successful additional stories that have been added to the main trilogies, so fans are definitely excited to see more from Cassian Andor because he, like Rogue One, highlights the "espionage aspects of the rebellion" as pointed out by one Redditor.

Ahsoka

Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in the fifth episode of The Mandalorian season two

The character of Ahsoka Tano first appeared during the Clone Wars and quickly became a favorite among fans, which led to further appearances in series like Star Wars: Rebels and more recently, her live-action debut on The Mandalorian.

Rosario Dawson will reprise her role from the Disney+ series for the upcoming Ahsoka, which will follow the character as she presumably hunts down her prey from The Mandalorian, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn's popularity extends from his debut in the Expanded Universe/Legends continuity to his appearance in Rebels, making Ahsoka even more highly-anticipated by fans.

The Acolyte

One of the most anticipated new series coming to the Star Wars universe is also one of the most mysterious, as little is known about The Acolyte beyond its setting in the High Republic era that is currently being explored in books and comics.

The upcoming series is set to explore the dawn of the dark side during the closing days of the High Republic era, which a Redditor felt had "a lot of potential" and has fans excited to hear more about the surprising addition to the Star Wars universe.

Rogue Squadron

X-Wing Rogue Squadron

Fans of the games and novels that followed Wedge Antilles and his Rogue Squadron during the days of the original trilogy were excited to hear of further adventures starring the elite pilot squad that has fought alongside the rebellion for years.

Patty Jenkins was revealed as the director of the upcoming Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie which will follow a new generation of the classic starfighter squadron that is slated to push the larger saga into the future of Star Wars, which elevated one Redditor's ranking to a "brand new Super Ultra A+ Mega Unstoppable Awesomeness tier." 'Nuff said.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Darth Vader Anakin Skywalker Hayden Christensen Obi-Wan Kenobi Ewan McGregor

It's clear among fans on Reddit due to the polls, discussions, and various assembled tier rankings that the most popular and anticipated upcoming Star Wars project is Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will see the return of both Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi, but also Hayden Christianson as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

The series will take place after the events of the Revenge of the Sith, which has fans excited for a season-long exploration of that time period and the long-awaited return of McGregor to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi as he became the distant protector of young Luke Skywalker.
