Kenshi loses his eyesight in a first look trailer of Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, which also teases a team-up- between two fan-favorite characters. Mortal Kombat Legends kicked off in April 2020 with the popular animated film Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge, which was a hit with audiences and critics alike. The film was followed by the less praised Battle of the Realms, which came out the following year. The third film in the series will follow Kenshi Takahashi, a fan-favorite character since his first appearance in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.

A new trailer released by Warner Bros. Entertainment offers a first look at the next installment in the Mortal Kombat Legends series, which will be dubbed Snow Blind. In the trailer, boastful fighter Kenshi first appears with his eyes and vision intact. When he opens a well in search of a powerful sword and looks inside, the souls trapped within the well rush out, blinding him. Only then does the sword call out to him, and he begins to train. The very end of the trailer also features the arrival of Sub-Zero, teased as Kenshi's ally in the film. Watch the full trailer here:

The origin story film is scheduled for an October release. Following the success of Scorpion's Revenge and the mixed reception of Battle of the Realms, it will be interesting to see where Snow Blind falls. Based on the trailer, there is rich potential in Kenshi's story. Though often relegated to a side character, Kenshi has a fascinating background. He is able to gain greater perspective and ultimately become a great warrior because of his blindness. The fight scenes and character appearances teased in the trailer, as well as the on-screen team-up of allies Sub-Zero and Kenshi, promises a fun ride. Voiced by Manny Jacinto, Kenshi will finally step into the spotlight in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind.
