NetherRealm Studios has officially confirmed that Rambo will be a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11, along with two returning fighters from the series in the form of Mileena and Rain. Since it's debut in 1992, the fighting series has become a staple of the genre and has seen various crossovers, expanding the already large cast from the series even further.

The fact that a new guest fighter was coming to Mortal Kombat 11 has been known for a while, with series creator Ed Boon teasing the addition for some time. In fact, an earlier teaser trailer for the upcoming DLC suggested that Rambo from the action film First Blood would make some sort of appearance in the future. Of course, Rambo is not the first fighter from pop culture to show up in the fighting franchise. Popular fictional characters like Predator have appeared in earlier titles, while Mortal Kombat 11 has also introduced both Terminator or Robocop.

Mortal Kombat 11 is getting a total of three new characters as part of a new upcoming DLC pack. Not only will players finally be able to play as the classic Mileena but both John Rambo and Rain will also come to the fighting game. Developer NetherRealm Studios announced Kombat Pack 2 on the official Mortal Kombat YouTube account earlier today, showing the three fighters in action. During the video, a generic Tarkatan is being hunted by the purple ninja known as Rain before being brutally murdered by Mileena. As the two engage in combat, Rambo emerges from the jungle, challenging both of them. Kombat Pack 2 is slated to arrive alongside Mortal Kombat II: Ultimate on November 17.

The last big addition to Mortal Kombat 11 came in May. The Aftermath expansion included several new fighters and a brand new story that centered on Shang Tsung and his continuing plan, directly following on from the events of the original game. One of the strangest aspects of the DLC, though, was that it confirmed that the events of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe are considered canon within the franchise.

Considering just how violent Rambo can be, it makes a lot of sense to see him turn up in Mortal Kombat 11. After all, this fighting series is all about horrifying and grotesque violence. The soldier has shown in his film appearances that he is more than capable of creating carnage, making him a good fit for the franchise. Of course, it also means that fans can also finally see Sylvester Stallone go head-to-head with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
