A new clip from Morbius shows off Jared Leto's vampire powers. After rebooting Spider-Man again and introducing Tom Holland to the MCU, Sony has been working hard on spinoff Spider-Man movies focusing on the web-slinger's iconic villains. Holland's two solo Spider-Man outings introduced audiences to Vulture, Shocker, Scorpion, and Mysterio, but plenty more are getting solo films, including Morbius and Kraven the Hunter.

After Spider-Man: No Way Home releases this month, Morbius will be Sony's next movie in the Spider-Man universe. Morbius the Living Vampire debuted back in 1971 in The Amazing Spider-Man #101, and Leto will be the first person to play a live-action version of the character. The film has been overshadowed by the hype for Spider-Man: No Way Home and the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, both of which feature more well-known Spider-Man characters. Morbius' first look was revealed last year, with the first official trailer coming out just last month.

The marketing push for Morbius seems to be revving up as a new clip has just been released by Sony. The three-and-a-half-minute video shows Leto being experimented on before turning into his vampire form. The character then goes on a killing spree, eliminating several of the threats on board a boat and finally transforming back into a human state. Check out the full clip below:

Any new footage is welcomed by Marvel fans, but people are itching to know how the film connects to other Spider-Man movies, especially since Spider-Man: No Way Home is jumping into the multiverse. The initial trailer featured Michael Keaton's return as Vulture, and the second referenced Tom Hardy's Venom. Since this clip is an actual scene from Morbius, it makes sense that the video doesn't feature a ton of easter eggs. Instead, this clip is strictly focused on Dr. Michael Morbius' transformation into a vampire. The character's super-speed and strength are the main powers showcased in the video, yet Morbius will also be gifted with bat radar, night vision, flight, and the power to control bats.

The connection of three iterations of Spider-Man characters is one of the most exciting aspects of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but Morbius needs to be careful not to rely too heavily on multiverse connections. Sony has often struggled with prioritizing setups for future projects instead of the movie at hand. Nailing Morbius' origin story is going to be crucial for Sony if they want a sequel, especially since many aren't familiar with the character. Morbius looks to be able to hold his own should he ever cross paths with Spider-Man, but Sony needs Morbiusfirst appearance to be a success first.
