A new set photo from Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight gives a first glimpse at Ethan Hawke's villainous antagonist. Hawke will be playing opposite Oscar Isaac's titular hero, real name Marc Spector, whose powers may or may not come from an Egyptian god. Moon Knight has kicked off production in Budapest ahead of what is likely a 2022 debut. The series has the potential to take the MCU into dark new directions, as Moon Knight is considered to be Marvel's answer to Batman.

Moon Knight is one of the studio's most mysterious upcoming series, without a clear connection to the larger MCU. Still, the names attached are enough to make fans excited on their own and seeing the two stars go head-to-head is an exciting prospect. Isaac and Hawke are two of the most celebrated actors currently working and their entry into the MCU is highly anticipated. Maybe the most mysterious aspect of the series is just which villain Hawke may be playing and new set photos could tease what Marvel villain he'll turn into.

Courtesy of Budapest Reporter (via Twitter user ATR3IDES), the photo shows Hawke accompanied by a member of the crew, possibly on his way to shoot some scenes for the series. The actor is described as wearing a brown suit of some kind while carrying a walking cane, but the cane is not pictured in the shot. Hawke is also sporting longer hair and a mask that matches his outfit. Check out the photo below:

Some have speculated that Hawke's look is reminiscent of Dracula, hinting that the iconic vampire could be coming to the MCU. This would be in line with the more supernatural elements Moon Knight is expected to bring to the franchise. Still, it's hard to confirm exactly which villain Hawke could be playing from a photo like this. The actor's look is also reminiscent of Bertrand Crawley, particularly because of the long hair and the walking cane, but Crawley is an ally and friend to Marc Spector in the comics so that wouldn't make too much sense unless they plan to flip the character.

Although it will likely be quite some time before anything is confirmed about Moon Knight, Hawke playing Dracula makes sense. This is underscored by one of Marvel's other projects currently in the works that is set to introduce Mahershala Ali's Blade. Bringing Dracula onboard in Moon Knight could give Marc Spector a formidable foe while keeping Hawke in the MCU for some time by slyly introducing vampires as a whole. This could provide a much needed connection for Moon Knight to the rest of the MCU and introduce a whole new, mystical realm to the universe.
