The possibility of Moon Knight season 2 looks more likely now, as the show's director Mohamed Diab and star Oscar Isaac cryptically tease the series' return. The launch of Disney+ in 2019 opened the door for Marvel Studios to make shows set firmly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After using the opportunity to give some established characters bigger roles, Moon Knight became the first to star as a brand new MCU character in the title role. The series starred Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector and Steven Grant, two of Moon Knight's alters, who learn they serve the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. The story revolved around Moon Knight stopping the emergence of Ammit.
Moon Knight became a huge hit for Marvel and Disney+, as the series scored strong viewership and received plenty of praise for its tone, Isaac's performance, and how it handled mental health issues. The Moon Knight finale left the door open for more stories centered around the new MCU hero, especially after the post-credits reveal of a third alter, Jake Lockley, and him seemingly killing Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow. Since Marvel has not revealed what will come next for Oscar Isaac and Moon Knight's MCU future, speculation has mounted about a possible second season.
Now, it seems Moon Knight season 2 might actually be happening. Series director Mohamed Diab, who helmed half of the first season, shared a TikTok video on Twitter that features him and Oscar Isaac. The tweet and video are centered around Moon Knight season 2, as the TikTok user hayaattiaaa shared a video where she asks Mohamed Diab and Oscar Isaac about the show's possible renewal. The video concludes with Isaac teasing Moon Knight season 2 is happening by saying, "Why else would we be in Cairo?"

Shortly after the season 1 finale of Moon Knight, Diab addressed the status of season 2 in a more vague way. He said that a second season was not confirmed and that he was just as in the dark as fans about whether or not Moon Knight's story will continue. Not too long ago, series writer Jeremy Slater said that Moon Knight season 2 was entirely up to Marvel and Kevin Feige. If Diab and Isaac's response in this video is serious, then it appears Feige has maybe made up his mind.
If Diab and Isaac are indeed working on Moon Knight season 2 right now, it likely will not be too long before the show's renewal is confirmed by Marvel Studios. The show's return might not have been announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, but D23 is coming up soon. This Disney event is expected to be the place where Marvel fills in the remaining MCU Phase 6 projects. Moon Knight season 2 could easily be part of that presentation, which would mean it will come in the next two years. It would also make Moon Knight the second live-action MCU show to get a second season, joining Loki. Hopefully this news is confirmed sooner than later now.
