Warning: Spoilers ahead for Moon Knight episode 1!

The newest addition to the MCU is Moon Knight (aka Marc Spector), and many fans are wondering how powerful the hero is compared to the Avengers. Moon Knight varies wildly from other characters in the MCU, as his personality and move set has evolved to differentiate him over the years. While Moon Knight hasn't fought too many other heroes in the comics, it is still fun to speculate about which Avengers he could takedown.

Moon Knight's origin and full powers in the MCU are unknown, but they will likely be similar to those in the comics. Marc Spector is an expert boxer, former Marine and CIA agent, and an avatar of the moon god Khonshu. On his own, Moon Knight is an expert at hand-to-hand combat, is a great detective, and has a variety of weapons at his disposal. Using the power of the moon, though, he gains all sorts of other abilities, such as prophetic visions, increased strength and durability, and even the ability to kill someone just by touching them. Khonshu has even revived Marc Spector in the past, so that is always a possibility. Because of his dependency on the moon, Moon Knight's powers greatly vary, and his ability to face off against other superheroes would greatly depend on the conditions he is fighting under.

The Avengers wildly vary in power level, with some being gods and others being street-level heroes. Moon Knight is by far not the most powerful character in the MCU, but he isn't the weakest either. In Moon Knight episode 1, "The Goldfish Problem," Marc Spector already shows his fighting prowess against several goons with guns and even against an Egyptian deity, so he can definitely hold his own against some pretty powerful foes. So, let's break down how Moon Knight's powers shape up compared to every Avenger.

Moon Knight vs. Iron Man

Iron Man with his helmet off in Avengers: Endgame

Out of all the Avengers, Moon Knight and Iron Man are some of the most alike. Much like Marc Spector, Tony Stark has no powers, instead relying on his gadgets and learned fighting skills in order to defeat villains. Without Khonshu, Iron Man could easily take Moon Knight down, as he simply has more advanced technology. However, the supernatural abilities Khonshu grants Moon Knight may give him the edge. He could also use his detective skills to learn how to take down each of Iron Man's suits, bettering his chances even further. While it is close, Moon Knight overpowers Iron Man by a slim margin.

Moon Knight vs. Captain America

When it comes to brute strength, Captain America could likely beat Moon Knight when comparing the characters one-on-one. In nearly every other way, though, Moon Knight is more powerful. Both are incredibly durable, but Moon Knight is a much better martial artist than Steve Rogers. Furthermore, while Captain America is a good strategist, Marc Spector's CIA training means that he is vastly more intelligent than the Super Soldier. On top of all that, Moon Knight's supernatural powers make him far more powerful than Captain America.

Moon Knight vs. Hulk

The Incredible Hulk's strength far outweighs Moon Knights. Although he has supernatural durability, Moon Knight will still eventually give in. Hulk, on the other hand, never stops no matter what is thrown at him. Moon Knight's intelligence is much greater than Hulk's, but when he reverts to Bruce Banner, they are about even in that field. Moon Knight has Hulk when it comes to brains, but Hulk destroys when it comes to brawn.

Moon Knight vs. Thor

Thor Odinson as seen in Avengers Infinity War

Alongside Hulk, Thor is arguably the most powerful of the original Avengers. Putting it simply, Moon Knight would not stand a chance against him. None of Moon Knight's gadgets even compare to Mjølnir, and Thor has no apparent weaknesses that Moon Knight could exploit. While Moon Knight could try to drain his life forces, it would be hard to even touch Thor due to his power of flight. In this case, the Norse god beats the Egyptian god.

Moon Knight vs. Black Widow

Black Widow is a master of martial arts, manipulation, and has extensive training with the Red Room and SHIELD. Compared to Moon Knight, Black Widow has better training and is more stable than Marc Spector. However, Moon Knight's natural abilities, resources, and link to an Egyptian god make him far more powerful than Black Widow.

Moon Knight vs. Hawkeye

The final member of the original Avengers, Hawkeye, has been the constant butt of jokes due to his minuscule power. Although he does show arrows really well, Moon Knight's variety of weapons makes him a much more diverse fighter. Both characters are incredibly dexterous and acrobatic, with much of Moon Knight's abilities being due to his CIA training and moon powers. However, Hawkeye is another character that Moon Knight is far more powerful than.

Moon Knight vs. Spider-Man

The MCU's Spider-Man is not very powerful as of now, but he has the potential to be. Peter Parker is just beginning to learn how his Spider-sense works, and his strength and web-slinging abilities are becoming greater every time he appears. Both Moon Knight and Spider-Man are incredibly intelligent, but Moon Knight has more fighting experience. Spider-Man can get around easier, but the lengths that his durability can go haven't really been shown off yet in the MCU. At his most powerful, Spider-Man can take Moon Knight fairly easily, but as of right now, Moon Knight is a much better fighter and tactician.

Moon Knight vs. Falcon

Sam as Captain America in Falcon and Winter Soldier Finale

The main thing Moon Knight and Falcon have in common is their military training. Both are fantastic fighters, but with the ease that he is shown to take out gunmen in Moon Knight, Marc Spector is probably better. While Falcon as Captain America has shown to be proficient with a shield, he still heavily relies on his wings. On the other hand, Moon Knight gets his strength, durability, and supernatural abilities from Khonshu, something that can't easily be broken, making him far more powerful than Falcon.

Moon Knight vs. Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch in WandaVision

Scarlet Witch is one of the most powerful characters in the MCU, and Moon Knight's powers barely compare to hers. While he does have supernatural abilities, Wanda Maximoff's reality-bending powers would make easy work of Marc Spector. She can control minds, move objects, create illusions, and more. With a character so powerful that even Doctor Strange is scared of her, Moon Knight pales in comparison.

Moon Knight vs. Vision

The Vision in Avengers: Age Of Ultron

In the MCU, the thing Vision does best is die. However, since he is a robot, he has been resurrected in Westview and as White Vision. Moon Knight has also been resurrected, but when it comes to raw power, Moon Knight is far weaker than Vision. Vision is powered by an Infinity Stone and can shoot lasers, fly, and possesses superintelligence. While Moon Knight is smart and can punch pretty well, he is much weaker than the superpowered synthezoid.

Moon Knight vs. Black Panther

Black Panther preparing to fight.

Black Panther and Moon Knight may be the most comparable Avengers. Both are slightly stronger due to the powers granted to them by deities. Both have access to vast wealth and gadgets that can be wielded against nearly any enemy. Both also are fantastic strategists that have been through intense training. When answering the question about which is more powerful, it is a coin flip. The only thing that gives Black Panther a slight edge is that he uses Vibranium for his suits and inventions, whereas Moon Knight uses adamantium, a slightly weaker metal (although it is still not confirmed to exist in the MCU). In nearly every conceivable way, Moon Knight and Black Panther are perfect equals.

Moon Knight vs. Ant-Man and The Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp standing side by side.

Ant-Man and The Wasp have very similar powers, with the only difference being that The Wasp can fly. Moon Knight and the shrinking duo have very little in common besides their reliance on technology. All Ant-Man and The Wasp have to do is shrink down to break Moon Knight's technology, leaving him with only his fists. Moon Knight has much greater combat intelligence than the two, but when it comes to powers, Ant-Man and The Wasp have Moon Knight beat.

Moon Knight vs. Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel on her movie poster.

Much like Thor, Vision, and Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel is one of the MCU's most powerful heroes. She possesses the ability to fly, shoot lasers, and has super strength. Although it is not shown in the MCU, Carol Danvers also gets brief visions of the future, which she has in common with Moon Knight. Of course, a street-level vigilante usually wouldn't face off against an intergalactic superhero, but if they did, Captain Marvel would destroy Moon Knight.

Moon Knight vs. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange in Avengers Endgame

The final Avenger on this list is Doctor Strange. While they both have connections to the supernatural, Doctor Strange's are to a much greater extent. He constantly pulls new tricks out of his sleeve, which could quickly best a mortal like Moon Knight. Similar to how Moon Knight's multiple personalities give him trouble, Strange's ego can greatly affect his skills. He has bested foes like Dormamu using his intelligence, but Doctor Strange has also been outsmarted by Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Moon Knight could beat Doctor Strange in a mental battle, but Strange wins in a battle of powers. If Moon Knight were to beat Doctor Strange, it would mostly be due to Strange's ego and not Moon Knight's skills.

Overall, Moon Knight is in the middle of the road regarding powers. In the arena of street-level heroes, he is better than nearly all of them. Get out of that category, though, and most characters can make easy work of Moon Knight. There is still a lot of room for Marc Spector to grow in the MCU, though, so maybe one day Moon Knight will be able to show how powerful he is side-by-side with the Avengers.
