The Haunting of Bly Manor star Oliver Jackson-Cohen is a fan-favorite choice to play Moon Knight, but he hasn't talked to Marvel Studios about leading the Disney+ series. After years of fans asking when Moon Knight would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was officially announced last summer that Moon Knight was in development. The Disney+ show was announced alongside She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel, and the three of them will bring Marc Spector, Jennifer Walters, and Kamala Khan to the MCU.

While there has been plenty of news on She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel, updates on Moon Knight have been less frequent. It is known that The Umbrella Academy's Jeremy Slater will be the showrunner, but Marvel has yet to cast Marc Spector. This has allowed fan-casts to persist and throw many names into the mix. Zac Efron, Daniel Radcliffe, Shia LaBeouf, and Keanu Reeves are some of the more popular choices by fans, but there are many who want to see The Haunting of Hill House star Oliver Jackson-Cohen play the Marvel superhero.

Even though Jackson-Cohen is a fan-favorite, it doesn't appear that he is in the running. Comicbook asked him about the requests for him to be Moon Knight during a recent interview. While he appreciates all the support and has learned more about the character, Jackson-Cohen said that he hasn't been called about starring in Moon Knight. Of course, he wouldn't be able to say even if he had, which could be why he ends the following quote with a glimmer of optimism.

"Listen, Twitter is quite the encyclopedia and I have been very fortunate that people have educated me well on Moon Knight and Marvel and the world of it. The honest response is that I have no idea, no one has called me about this, but, again, I stand by what I said, that Moon Knight sounds like a fascinating, fascinating character, and I'd love to get my hands on that, but you just never know, do you?"

Despite saying he hasn't heard from Marvel, Jackson-Cohen's tone has changed since the last time he responded to these Moon Knight fan requests. He now appears to know more about the Jewish hero with dissociative identity disorder who believes the Egyptian Moon god Khonshu gave him powers. But, based on what Jackson-Cohen says, it doesn't sound like any research he's done on Moon Knight has led to a conversation with Marvel about joining the MCU.

Whether or not Jackson-Cohen gets to play Moon Knight, it might not be too long before Marvel announces who they've cast. Moon Knight is on a comparable schedule as She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel, and they both found their leads recently. Tatiana Maslany is going to play She-Hulk and newcomer Iman Vellani will play Kamala Khan. Both of these announcements came after the shows found their directors, so if Moon Knight's directors are revealed soon, then the casting of Marc Spector could quickly follow.
