Fans of Moon Knight will be delighted to hear that the hero's upcoming series will see the return of his "Mr. Knight" persona and costume - a fan-favorite version of the character who has slipped out of focus since the series that first introduced this side of Moon Knight's battle against crime.

A former mercenary who pledged his life to the moon god Khonshu, Moon Knight has a fractured identity which has seen him adopt many different personae and professions in his quest to protect those who travel by night. Created in Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey's acclaimed run on Moon Knight, the Mr. Knight persona is a version of the nocturnal hero who deals with non-supernatural crimes and interfaces with the NYPD (who, at the time, found it convenient to treat Mr. Knight as a different individual to the erratic vigilante known as Moon Knight.) The Mr. Knight costume sees Marc Spector don a stylish suit and tie to go with his mask.

The Mr. Knight costume is particularly beloved because of its relationship with Declan Shalvey's iconic time with the character, and especially the use of negative space made possible by an all-white hero. Moon Knight wears white so criminals can see him coming, and Mr. Knight is particularly focused on Spector's human quarry, but has fallen into the background since his introduction. That's about to change, as Alessandro Cappuccio has shared a page of art on Twitter from the upcoming Moon Knight #1 - written by Jed Mackay, colored by Rachelle Rosenberg, and drawn by Cappuccio - which makes it clear Mr. Knight will soon return to Marvel Comics alongside Moon Knight.

Launching in July, the new series will see Moon Knight striking out without the blessing of Khonshu, who he recently turned on after the moon god took control of Earth to win a war with the devilish Mephisto. Despite this, Marc is as committed as ever to his mission, and it seems like he'll be bringing some classic tricks to the table - the Mr. Knight persona among them. While Marc burned his bridges with the NYPD long ago, it's possible the return of Mr. Knight means that he's taking a more diplomatic approach to crime-fighting this time around. Then again, he did recently beat down most of the Avengers, so it's possible the suit and tie represent a new degree of self-assurance as Moon Knight finally emerges from the shadow of his twisted god.

The new series will coincide with Moon Knight's MCU debut, with a new Disney+ show seeing him portrayed by Oscar Isaac. Hopefully, the return of Mr. Knight suggests this costume and persona will also appear in the live-action show, but for longstanding fans of Moon Knight, his return to comics on July 7 - when Moon Knight #1 will go on sale with physical and digital retailers - is the real reason to celebrate.
