Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have a lot to look forward to, thanks to the multiple new Disney+ shows that are being scheduled for release in the near future. Starting with The Falcon and Winter Solider and Wandavision, Disney+ offers an opportunity for Marvel to continue expanding the world of the MCU beyond the movies and Netflix shows. One show to look forward to for its own special reasons is Moon Knight.

Details about the project are scarce, with Jeremy Slater named Moon Knight head writer (having shown his talents with The Umbrella Academy). Horror is the name of the game for Moon Knight's strange story as well, dating back to his first appearance as a supporting character in Werewolf by Night in 1975. Beginning life as Marc Spector, a Jewish-American marine turned mercenary and occasional CIA asset. During an operation in Egypt, Marc dies and is resurrected by local Egyptian moon god Khonshu as his human representative on Earth -- tasked to punish evil-doers in his name. Or at least... that's what Marc thinks happened.

Marvel has implied Khonshu might just be a hallucination in recent years, not to mention the other personalities living in Marc's head: taxi driver Jake Lockley, and millionaire philanthropist Steven Grant. Needless to say, there's a lot going on in Marc's life, and the story has supporting characters to match. Split personalities aside, Moon Knight has the potential to introduce a lot more new characters to fans of the MCU. Fans still have plenty of time to speculate which characters from the comic will show up in the live action series. Even if Moon Knight may not have the biggest supporting cast in the world, there are some other essential characters that are likely to join the Fist of Khonshu on his transition into live action TV.

Frenchie

Moon Knight and Frenchie in Marvel comics

The first (and most likely) companion to Join Moon Knight as he fights his way through the streets of New York is his most trusted companion in the comics:Jean-Paul DuChamp, AKA Frenchie. Marc's mercenary friend and partner, Frenchie has been Moon Knight's closest ally since the beginning. Aside from being a mercenary DuChamp is also a skilled pilot, and in 2006's Moon Knight Volume 5 it was revealed that he was gay, which could possibly give us the first openly LGBT relationship in the MCU.

Marlene Alraune

Moon Knight Comic Marlene

Originally introduced as a possible love interest for Moon Knight, Marlene plays an important role in his backstory as the archeologist who first unearthed the statue of Khonshu that gave Marc his identity. She spent some time in the comics working as a partner for Marc fighting crime, but ultimately the 2 grew apart from one another as Marc's mental health and different personalities started to get in the way of their relationship. When Marlene asked Marc to choose between her and Khonshu, he chose Khonshu. Still, that doesn't take away from the fact that she is a badass archeologist/martial artist/spy who could easily play a pivotal role in the TV series.

Peter Alraune

Moon Knight Peter Alraune

Marlene's archeologist father who leads an exhibition to unearth the tomb of the ancient Pharaoh Seti III in Egypt. This leads directly to Khonshu's statue being found and Marc becoming Moon Knight, so he's kinda important. Unfortunately for Peter he also dies protecting the statue of Khonshu in the comics, so a live action Peter Alraune might not be long for this world either.

Raoul Bushman

Raoul Bushman attacks in Marvel Comics.

The most recognizable of Moon Knight's villains, Raoul Bushman is one of those bad guys you just love to hate. Originally a fellow mercenary and ally of Marc, Bushman was the man who originally killed Marc Spector in Egypt which led to his transformation into Moon Knight. Black hearted, greedy, and cruel, this warlord from Sudan might be the only man on earth who can match Moon Knight in craziness. the two of them have fought each other multiple times in the comics, so he would be the perfect villain for a live-action Moon Knight to face.

Randall Spector

Moon Knight Randall Spector

Superhero comics love Cain and Abel stories, don't they? Randall is Marc's evil brother who just so happens to worship the Egyptian god Khonshu himself. Unlike Marc however, Randall (or Shadow Knight as he calls himself) isn't interested in fighting crime but in killing his own brother along with everyone he loves. Randall is also a member of the supernatural cult of Khonshu which grants him superhuman strength, meaning that he would provide the Disney+ show with a formidable villain to fight and plenty of cultists for Marc to face as well.

Blade

It was previously rumored  that the vampire killing superhero Blade might play a role in Moon Knight. Although an MCU Blade film was first announced in 2013 nothing has come of this announcement yet and there is still no release date for the project. Introducing Blade in Moon Knight would be a welcome surprise for fans of the vampire hunter and could also drum up hype for his own upcoming movie. And this wouldn't be the first time these two characters worked side by side-both heroes were once members of the supernatural hero team the Midnight Sons, and in 2017 artist Greg Smallwood pitched a reboot for Midnight Sons starring both Blade and Moon Knight.

Werewolf by Night

Dead of Night: Werewolf By Night

Moon Knight did not debut in his own comic, rather he was introduced as an antagonist for another Marvel hero. Moon Knight was first hired to kill Werewolf by Night in Werewolf by Night #32, but after the two fought they quickly decided to team up with each other instead. Moon Knight has been portrayed as an anti-hero rather than a villain since, but that doesn't mean Marvel Studios can't give the character who kickstarted Moon Knight's superhero career a supporting role in the upcoming show.
