A talented Instagram digital artist has envisioned Keanu Reeves as Marvel vigilante Moon KnightWhile the hero made his debut in the Marvel Universe in 1975 and has made cameos in several animated shows, he's finally stepping into the spotlight with his own live-action series. Although details for Moon Knight's forthcoming show remain as mysterious as the hero himself, the series will be written by Jeremy Slater and start filming in mid-November.

Marc Spector, aka Moon Knight, was a mercenary before he was a hero. Although he was killed while on a job in an Egyptian tomb, Spector was reborn thanks to the spirit of Khonshu, a being worshipped by ancient Egyptians. Since then, Spector has returned to New York City as Moon Knight, where he's worked to keep the city streets safe at night. It's worth mentioning, though, that since Khonshu protects night travelers, Moon Knight's watch is limited in a similar fashion.

Digital artist spdrmnkyxxiii has posted some incredible fan art showing what Keanu Reeves would look like as Moon Knight. The promotional poster shows Reeves front and center, wearing a hood and cloak with a crescent moon cloak pin. Reeves also looks like he's just gotten in a fight, with a particularly bloody gash across his nose. There are bright sparks visible in the background as well, which helps contrast Reeves' shadowy form. You can see spdrmnkyxxiii's breathtaking creation below:

In spdrmnkyxxiii's caption, the artist writes he's excited about the prospect of seeing Reeves as the vigilante. That being said, Reeves would certainly be a strong choice for the role; for one, his previous experience in The Matrix and John Wick, among other projects, show that he has both the versatility and the acting chops to take on the complexity of Moon Knight's character. As such, while nothing has been set in stone yet, it's easy to see why Marvel might be interested in Reeves.

Although Moon Knight might not have the same mainstream appeal as some of Marvel's more well-known characters, the forthcoming Disney+ show is the perfect way to widen the hero's fan base. However, in order for Moon Knight to be a success, showrunners will have to find an actor who can truly capture the various facets of Marc Spector. While Reeves is currently filming The Matrix 4, which may prove to be a scheduling challenge for Marvel, the studio certainly shouldn't rule him out - and it's already easy to envision Reeves as Moon Knight thanks to spdrmnkyxxiii.
