The Fist of Khonshu Moon Knight is a man of many faces. Sometimes he's fighting crime as the former mercenary Marc Spector. Sometimes he's securing high profile business deals as the business mogul Steven Grant. Other times, he's patrolling and keeping tabs on the criminal underworld as the taxi driver Jake Lockley. But in Ms. Marvel & Moon Knight by Jody Houser, Ibraim Roberson, and Erick Arciniega, Moon Knight takes on a new form, this time as a giant kaiju.

Moon Knight is already a wacky character to begin with, but even die hard fans of the hero have to admit Moon Knight becoming a kaiju is a surprise. The giant beasts are seemingly becoming a more regular occurrence in Marvel Comics, as the X-Men's Emma Frost battles an Eternals kaiju in cover art for the recent A.X.E: Judgment Day #1. The decision to turn Moon Knight into one was probably inspired by the MCU's Moon Knight series, the finale of which featured a cinematic battle between giant versions of Khonshu and the dark goddess Ammit.

This idea is supported by the fact that Moon Knight's new kaiju form takes on the appearance of Khonshu, almost exactly as he appears in the MCU series. When Ms. Marvel comes to Moon Knight to ask about his run-in with mechanical rats from the night before, the two team up to investigate the issue further, and end up fighting wave after wave of robot rodents through the streets of New York. At one point they meet up with Hunter's Moon, another Fist of Khonshu who has also been targeted by the beasts. As the trio banters amongst themselves, the rats coagulate into a giant robot with an impenetrable shield. Under the light of the full moon, Moon Knight and Hunter's Moon glow and combine their powers together, and take on the form of a giant Khonshu, which effortlessly defeats the robot.

Moon Knight has displayed a wide array of powers in the past, but this kaiju form is something different altogether. He's a character that doesn't team up with others often, most likely due to his multiple personalities, but this comic shows that when he combines forces with another one of Khonshu's avatars, Moon Knight can become even stronger.

At the end of issue, Ms. Marvel leaves to find the creator of the rat robots. However, Moon Knight making another appearance in Ms. Marvel's team-up series is teased as he says, "I would very much like to know who is behind this. You know where to find me." As these events culminate, hopefully, Moon Knight, Hunter's Moon, and their kaiju Khonshu form come back to settle the score.
