The new Honest Trailer aims at Marvel's Moon Knight series. Moon Knight is Marvel's latest hero to land a series on Disney+, following in the footsteps of MCU shows like WandVision and Hawkeye. The series stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, F. Murray Abraham, and May Calamawy. The plot follows Isaac's Steven Grant/Marc Spector, a man with multiple personalities who has been granted powers by an Egyptian god, allowing him to become the superhero Moon Knight.
In the new Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies, the narrator quickly points out Moon Knight's obscure status within the comic book world, even saying they should keep the character Hellcow in the maybe pile for future projects. The narrator then lets audiences know that it's ok to be unfamiliar with the character because Moon Knight doesn't know who he is either, with "three personalities fighting for control of the same hot bod." Even poking fun at Isaac, the narrator questions why he would return to Egyptian comic book material before referencing his role as Apocalypse in the X-Men franchise. While Moon Knight began as an unknown character in the MCU, much like the Guardians of the Galaxy, the show was well-received by critics and audiences. However, some viewers shared the same criticisms lampooned in the Honest Trailer, like Moon Knight's blackouts skipping over action scenes, which was an artistic choice by the creative team. It's unknown if Moon Knight will receive a second season on Disney+. Still, the MCU presents vast opportunities for the character to return, with director Mohamed Diab stating it would be "a waste" not to revisit the character.
