Warning: SPOILERS for Moon Knight season 1!

Now that Moon Knight's story has come to an end, it is time to look ahead to what Oscar Isaac's Marvel Cinematic Universe future might look like. Despite releasing in the middle of Phase 4, the Disney+ series continued to surprise audiences with its lack of MCU connections. Moon Knight included a brief mention of Madripoor, the Ancestral Plane, and a god connected to Wakanda, but the show otherwise remained entirely focused on Marc Spector and Steven Grant. This was the right decision for Marvel Studios to make as it introduced Moon Knight to the MCU, even if it meant not providing a clear idea of what lies ahead for the character.

In some ways, Moon Knight's ending feels like the conclusion of Marc and Steven's arc in the MCU. The two alters now live in harmony and relinquish the powers granted to them by Khonshu, allowing them to live peacefully in London. However, Moon Knight episode 6's post-credits scene confirms that this isn't really the case. Moon Knight's third alter, Jake Lockley, is revealed to be Khonshu's true servant, and his willingness to be a ruthless killer makes him a deadly match for the Egyptian moon god. Marc and Steven might not know about Jake's activities, but they are sure to suit up as Moon Knight again in the future.

Marvel Studios has a robust slate of MCU Phase 4 movies and TV shows, but there is currently no confirmation on what Moon Knight's future holds. Those involved with Moon Knight have been tight-lipped about where his story can go from here, as even Oscar Isaac has said the future "doesn't matter so much" and that he's proud of the show's standalone story - but that doesn't change the fact that Moon Knight will surely be back in some form and at some point. Here are the upcoming MCU movies and TV shows Moon Knight can appear in next.

Blade

Moon Knight making Blade MCU debut easier

The most likely upcoming MCU movie that Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight will appear in is Blade. The solo film starring Mahershala Ali's Eric Brooks is set to dive deeper into the supernatural side of the MCU. Moon Knight began to explore this corner of the universe and even provided a potential explanation for why more supernatural events and characters haven't been shown before Phase 4. Moon Knight's experience with the supernatural might have more to do with Egyptian gods than vampires, but that shouldn't stop the two from crossing paths. It's important to note that the two now appear to reside in the same place, too. Blade's appearance in Eternals' post-credits scene brought him to the UK and seemingly kept Ali's natural English accent, which is part of Blade's character in the comics. Since Marc Spector and Steven Grant are living in London again, it is possible that Blade will seek them out if he learns about their activities as Moon Knight.

Thor: Love and Thunder

There's also the opportunity for Moon Knight to make a small appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder. The connection between Moon Knight and Thor's fourth solo movie comes through the villain, Gorr the God Butcher. Christian Bale's antagonist will wreak havoc across the MCU by slaying various deities, and Moon Knight even teased that Gorr could've slain some Egyptian gods. Depending on the trajectory of Gorr's mission, Khonshu and his Avatar could be put on his radar. This could give Thor: Love and Thunder an opportunity to have Moon Knight cameo as he attempts to evade Gorr or is warned about the god butcher's tendencies.

Avengers 5

Moon Knight MCU Timeline Take Place When Avengers Endgame

Moon Knight's MCU future probably will include him joining the Avengers at some point, possibly in Avengers 5. It is somewhat difficult to imagine Moon Knight fighting alongside Captain Marvel, Captain America, Shang-Chi, and any other Avengers, but that is likely where his story is heading nonetheless. This will presumably require a bit more setup on Marvel Studios' part, as he can't really be dropped into the next team gathering since he is so disconnected from the rest of the heroes. So while a place among Earth's Mightiest Heroes might be part of Moon Knight's MCU future, Avengers 5 likely won't be the next time he appears. Instead, he should make other appearances before this to weave him into the larger narrative. Depending on how long it takes Marvel to do this, there's even a chance Moon Knight doesn't make his Avengers debut until Avengers 6. But with a potential war of the gods and Kang's rising presence, Moon Knight could be a natural fit in the next Avengers movie.

Secret Invasion

Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion is another place where Moon Knight can return in the MCU Phase 4. The Disney+ series stars Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) in a loose adaptation of the famous comic crossover of the same name. While Moon Knight was not part of the crossover event in the source material, it would make some sense for that to change in the MCU. Due to Marc Spector's mercenary past and new living situation in London, there's a chance Nick Fury recruits him to work alongside him and the Skrulls during Secret Invasion. This would be a bit surprising of an appearance for Moon Knight, but that doesn't change the fact that he could be a useful fighter for Fury, assuming Marc Spector regains his powers.

Echo

Moon Knight could make another somewhat surprising appearance in the upcoming Echo Disney+ series, which serves as a spinoff of Hawkeye. Marvel Studios considered using Maya Lopez as Marc Spector's love interest in Moon Knight at one point, but the plan changed - and for the better. While the two characters missed a chance for a crossover in this instance, an appearance by Moon Knight in Echo could rectify this. The two characters share a special connection in Marvel comics, as Moon Knight at one point develops romantic feelings for Echo, leading to them teaming up before Echo seemingly dies during their mission. Moon Knight even creates a new identity based on Echo due to the pain he felt from her death. The MCU is sure not to use this plot given the age gap between Alaqua Cox and Oscar Isaac, but Moon Knight could still appear in Echo to lend a helping hand. If the series sees Maya Lopez continuing her training as an assassin, she could potentially learn a lot from Marc Spector.

Daredevil

Moon Knight and Daredevil seem destined to meet in the MCU, which could happen in the rumored Daredevil reboot show. Charlie Cox is returning as Daredevil for multiple MCU Phase 4 projects, which are expected to help set up his next solo adventure. While the series could serve as an unofficial Daredevil season 4, Moon Knight appearing could also be part of Marvel's plans here. Moon Knight confirmed that Marc Spector grew up in Chicago and spent much of his life in America before the show's events, meaning he could return to America and begin fighting crime in New York, leading Moon Knight and Daredevil to cross paths. The pair have teamed up before as part of the Marvel Knights when the team attempted to take down Punisher. Since Moon Knight and Daredevil can both operate as street-level heroes, it would certainly be fun to see them interact in Daredevil.

Werewolf by Night

Moon Knight Introduce Werewolves MCU Theory SR

Rumors that Werewolf by Night would appear in Moon Knight were untrue, but the two characters could still interact if Moon Knight returned to the MCU in the untitled Halloween Special featuring the werewolf character. This could be Marvel's opportunity to pay homage to the comics yet again, as Moon Knight originally debuted in the pages of a Werewolf by Night comic. With Gael García Bernal set to play the lead werewolf, Oscar Isaac could be a familiar face that appears in the supernatural MCU special. It would be interesting to see how this happens based on Moon Knight's ending, as this could even be a place for Jake Lockley's Moon Knight costume to make its debut.

Will Moon Knight Season 2 or A Movie Happen?

Moon Knight in full suit

On top of Moon Knight returning to other upcoming MCU movies and TV shows, there is also the possibility that his future lies with another solo project. Marvel Studios certainly left the door open for Moon Knight season 2 based on how the first season ended. Meanwhile, the reception of Moon Knight and Oscar Isaac's star power could also mean a solo MCU movie is where his story will continue. Since Marvel hasn't announced any plans, a Moon Knight movie or a second season of the show could both be strong possibilities for what his future eventually holds.
