Warning! Spoilers ahead for Moon Knight episode 6

The Moon Knight finale's post-credits scene not only confirms one of the show's biggest theories but also teases the future of the newest hero who's entered the MCU (played by Oscar Isaac). Featuring all sorts of surprises and twists, it was hard to tell exactly what the end results of Moon Knight were going to be heading into the finale. However, the ending and exciting new post-credits will certainly leave fans wanting more Moon Knight as soon as possible with the reveal of Marc Spector's third alternate identity.

In Moon Knight episode 6, Marc Spector decides to leave the Field of Reeds to save Steven Grant, who sacrificed himself in the previous episode. Rather than being frozen in the Egyptian afterlife known as the Duat, Osiris' gates opened which allowed Marc and Steven to return to the land of the living, albeit in a dead body after they'd been shot by Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke). Thankfully, Marc's wife Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) made her way to the Chamber of the Gods to free Khonshu. The moon god resurrected his avatar once more so they could deliver justice to Harrow who had likewise become the avatar of the newly freed goddess Ammit, resulting in an epic battle of gods and their chosen mortals.

Following Harrow's defeat and Moon Knight's refusal to kill him or the dark goddess they trapped within his body, it seemed as though Khonshu was true to his word and released Marc and Steven as his Fist of Justice. However, Moon Knight's end-credits scene revealed new details about the mysterious third alter who'd been teased throughout the series including in the final battle, taking over and defeating Harrow with Marc and Steven having no memory of what happened during the time he was in control. Here's what happened in Moon Knight's post-credits scene and what it means for Marc and Steven's future in the MCU.

Is Moon Knight's Arthur Harrow Dead?

Arthur Harrow in the Moon Knight finale.

Following on from the show's animated credit sequence, the Moon Knight post-credits scene saw Arthur Harrow having been admitted into a mental hospital, not unlike the manifested psych ward which had been formed as an organizing principle for Marc and Steven's memories while they were in the Duat. While a nurse was about to tend to Harrow undoubtedly struggling with Ammit trapped inside his mortal form as a living ushabti, a Spanish-speaking man stepped in. This man wheeled Harrow out of the institution and into a white limo before taking the driver's seat. Sitting inside was none other than Khonshu himself, revealing that while he might have "released" Marc and Steven, Jake Lockley still belongs to him as his avatar, the dark and very violent third identity Marc and Steven have yet to encounter. As such, Khonshu orders Jake to shoot Harrow, seemingly killing both him and Ammit, permanently ending their threat once and for all just as the moon god wanted.

Jake Lockley Powers & Origin Explained

Jake Lockley Moon Knight in Marvel comics

An alternate identity of Marc Spector from the comics, Jake Lockley was theorized as the third identity as soon as one was teased in the MCU's Moon Knight. While the original comics saw Marc serving as Moon Knight with Steven acting as a rich socialite and financier, Jake Lockley was the informant. Working as a taxi driver who kept his ear to the ground, Lockley developed an impressive network of contacts who helped alert Moon Knight to various crimes in the neighborhood. One of these contacts was none other than Bertrand Crawley, featured in the series as the living statue at the fountain whom Steven would talk to after work.

Like Steven, Jake Lockley is not a carbon copy of his comics counterpart. In general, the MCU's version of Moon Knight carries an equal share of similarities and differences to the one seen on the page. Case in point, while Jake does have the same hat and driving gloves he's also driving a white limo for Khonshu rather than patrons he picks up in a cab. Furthermore, it seems as though Jake only speaks Spanish, a new development for the MCU along with his intense brutality, the aftermath of which has been witnessed by Marc and Steven (first in episode 3 and now in episode 6 as well).

How Jake Lockley Will Change Moon Knight

Khonshu-And-Jake-Lockley-In-Moon-Knight-Episode-6

Marc and Steven know that there is a third alter by the time of Moon Knight's ending. After what they've seen, the only knowledge they have about Jake is that he's extremely violent. Having tied themselves to their bed, both Spector and Grant seem determined to learn more about Lockley (though that will likely be easier said than done). Khonshu undoubtedly wants to keep the truth secret regarding his involvement with Jake, allowing him to keep Marc as his Moon Knight without him even knowing.

The presence of Jake Lockley and his continued service to Khonshu implies that both Marc and Steven unknowingly still have access to Khonshu's power as well, despite believing that they were released by the moon god. As it stands, based upon his swift execution of Harrow, it seems Jake has very little problem with the brutality Khonshu requires of him. That being said, it's only a matter of time before Marc and Steven find out about Khonshu's secret dealings and their fellow identity, be it in Moon Knight season 2 or another MCU project entirely.
