Comic fans know Moon Knight is one of Marvel’s most brutal vigilantes, but a new series will allow the Fist of Khonshu to cut loose like never before. Debuting this April, just in time for the character’s MCU debut, Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood will feature all-new stories by some of today’s top creators, presented in a bold, black, white and red color scheme.

Since his debut over 40 years ago, Moon Knight has been a cult character, and one set to break through into the mainstream with his own Disney+ series debuting March 30. The show’s trailer proved to be a success, garnering over 13 million views in under a day. Moon Knight’s time has arrived, and Marvel is celebrating by giving him a second series, Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood. This four-issue miniseries follows on the success of similar books, which use a unique three-color rule to tell stories of Marvel's goriest adventures. In the past, characters such as Elektra, Deadpool, Wolverine and Carnage have used this format, allowing these violent and brutal characters to let the blood fly in special stories, written and drawn by some of the brightest stars in the industry. Now, Moon Knight is getting this treatment.

Moon Knight, Black White and Blood cover

With the premiere of Moon Knight on Disney+ imminent, mainstream audiences are about to learn what comic fans have known for years: that Moon Knight is one of the most unique characters in the Marvel Universe. He is also one of its most violent, often using excessive force. While this has not made him popular with his fellow heroes, it has endeared him to fans. The Black, White and Blood format gives creators the ability to tell bloody stories true to Marc Spector's tactics and history. As an anthology, the stories can take place anywhere in Moon Knight's continuity, from his more restrained modern-day mission to his ultra-brutal past.

Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood offers fans a wide variety of new stories about the often-lethal hero, and many will be particularly fascinated to read Jonathan Hickman's take on the former mercenary, coming March 30.
