Warning: Contains spoilers for Moon Knight episode 4.

One reveal from Moon Knight episode 4 offers a possible connection to one of the most powerful characters set to debut in Thor: Love and Thunder. With Moon Knight having the Egyptian Gods as a central part of the show’s plot, there was always a possibility of it connecting to Love and Thunder, if only tangentially, thanks to Gorr the God Butcher being the villain of the film. Episode 4, “The Tomb”, doesn’t do a lot to further that idea, but the idea of a connection is presented, nonetheless.

After discovering and infiltrating Ammit’s tomb, Steven is eventually able to locate the ushabti that Ammit has been sealed inside of. To Steven’s surprise, he discovers that the room where Ammit’s ushabti was being kept was none other than the lost tomb of Alexander the Great. That means that Alexander was a former avatar of Ammit, although the exact role he played in her history has yet to be explored.

Alexander the Great’s presence in Moon Knight also invites a connection to Thor: Love and Thunder through Zeus. It was said that many people, including Alexander, himself, declared him to be the son of Zeus, so with Zeus set to appear in Love and Thunder, it’s possible that Moon Knight and Love and Thunder could be connected through the MCU version of Alexander the Great being an actual the son of Zeus. The fact that Alexander was buried in Egypt in the MCU also leans into the idea since Amun, one of the Egyptian Gods, was viewed as an equivalent to Zeus and sometimes referred to as Zeus-Ammon.

Zeus catches a lightning bolt above his head

The one thing that works against the idea of Alexander being a demigod is him being an avatar of Ammit. While it’s currently unknown what specific powers are gained from being Ammit’s avatar, if they’re at all similar to the powers that Moon Knight and other avatars possess, then there could be redundancy in him being gifted those powers in addition to whatever powers he would possess as a demigod. Not only that, but going off of the previously mentioned connection between Zeus and Amun, if Zeus was part of the Ennead through also being Amun, then he likely wouldn’t stand for one of his children drawing power from a god other than himself. Alexander being the Egyptian God Ammit’s avatar does a lot to work against the idea of him being a demigod, but it doesn’t necessarily make it impossible.

For starters, it’s currently unknown how demigods operate in the MCU, so if Alexander were a demigod, then he might not have had any powers that would make being an avatar of Ammit redundant, if he even had powers, at all. Not only that, but if he were a son of Zeus, then that sort of pedigree could have been the reason why Ammit chose him as an avatar in the first place. Finally, in regards to the idea of Zeus not approving of Alexander being Ammit’s avatar, episode 1 said that Ammit was betrayed by her fellow gods, so if the MCU's Zeus did have a problem with Alexander drawing power from Ammit, then him being one of the gods to seal away Ammit could be him getting back at her for it.

Currently, Alexander the Great creating a link between Moon Knight and Thor: Love and Thunder by being a son of Zeus is largely a matter of audience speculation. There are various aspects of Moon Knight that don’t work as well if Alexander were a demigod, and even if those were to be worked around, any sort of connection between the stories probably wouldn’t affect either one to that great a degree. Even so, at its core, Moon Knight and Thor: Love and Thunder being connected like that would allow for more connectivity between the shows and the movies, and something like that would always be welcome.
