After nearly two decades since his last comic book performance, Wesley Snipes reunites with Marvel in an exclusive Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur clip. Executive produced and shepherded by Marvel Cinematic Universe star Laurence Fishburne, the animated show is based on the comics of the same name and centers on 13-year-old genius Lunella Lafayette building a portal generator and summoning a red Tyrannosaurus, whom she partners with to become a superheroine. Led by Diamond White, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has scored widespread critical acclaim.

Ahead of the episode's premiere, Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur clip.

The video, as seen above, comes from the season 1 finale, "OMG Issue #1", which sees Lunella uncovering the history of the Original Moon Girl, also known as OMG. The clip in particular introduces Wesley Snipes' Maris Morlak, OMG's former partner who became a villain after having credit stolen for his life's work.

Who Is Morlak? Marvel Comics Character & Differences Explained

Wesley Snipes in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur

Snipes' Morlak in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur looks to be largely different from the Marvel Comics character of the same name, who shared no connection to either eponymous character. Having first debuted in 1967's Fantastic Four No. 66, Morlak was introduced as a member of the scientist group known as the Scientists Guild, later known as Three X and the Enclave. The latter organization is well-known to comic book fans as the creator of Guardians of the Galaxy member Adam Warlock and Kismet, a second attempt to create Warlock.

The description for Snipes' Morlak indicates his Enclave connections are still being retained for his Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur appearance, albeit with a twist as he forms the group with the goal of "taking what's his at all costs and finally getting the recognition he deserves." The exclusive clip above further points towards retaining his genius-level intellect from the comics, easily surpassing Lunella's security and showing off many of his own gadgets, all the while keeping his ties to OMG a secret.

With his appearance coming in the season 1 finale, it seems possible that Snipes' Morlak could be a major antagonist that carries over into the already-confirmed Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur season 2. Snipes' appearance also marks a fun return to the comic book genre for fans of the star after his work in the Blade trilogy from the late '90s and early '00s, making audiences all the more hopeful for his role to be a substantial one heading into the show's future. Only time will tell when Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur season 1's finale hits Disney+ on April 12 and Disney Channel on April 29.
