Here's when viewers can expect Monsters at Work to drop on Disney+ and what the sequel series will be about. The upcoming series will be a continuation of Pixar's beloved 2001 film, Monsters, Inc., which introduced the world to a lovable blue ogre and his short, one-eyed green friend.

The movie, directed by Pete Docter, focused on James P. "Sulley" Sullivan and Mike Wazowski, who work at an energy factory in the city of Monstropolis that relies on the power harvested by scaring children. The monsters were led to believe that children were extremely toxic and dangerous, but after  the duo encounter a young girl named Boo, their perceptions instantly change. As Sulley and Mike try to get the girl back to where she belongs, they uncover the truth about the Monsters, Inc. factory, which ends up changing their future forever.

Due to the popularity of the film, a prequel titled Monsters University was released in June 2013. The prequel followed Sulley and Mike as college students, and details their journey from rivals to friends. The second installment was well-received by critics and fans, and Disney decided to give even more life to Monsters, Inc. when they announced the plans for Monsters at Work in 2017. Here's everything we know so far about Monsters at Work on Disney+.
