Even though Monster Hunter Rise is still a couple of months away from releasing, a free demo of the game is currently available for the Nintendo Switch. Thanks to the demo, players are already learning a good deal about the latest Monster Hunter game, including framerates, resolution, and some exciting brand-new features.

Capcom released a demo of Monster Hunter Rise on Switch last week. Although the demo is only available for a limited time, it gives players a chance to see how the game will run on Nintendo's console - as well as introducing several new features. As one of the most anticipated RPGs of the year, Monster Hunter Rise brings its typical action-oriented combat along with all fourteen of its traditional weapon types. It brings in the best from its predecessor, Monster Hunter World, while also implementing new elements that will surely change how the game is played.

The new Monster Hunter Rise demo allows players to try out multiple hunts based on difficulty, as well as giving them a taste of new features. Playing a game on the Nintendo Switch always brings up concerns about graphics, and the demo now confirms that Monster Hunter Rise will run in 756p in docked mode and 540p in handheld mode, and it can run at 30 FPS even in areas with a lot of assets. This shouldn't be too surprising for those familiar with playing games on Switch, but it's still nice to see what the Monster Hunter Rise demo can do - and it might help ease fears that the game will drop lower than 30 FPS in congested areas.

New Features In Monster Hunter Rise

Prior to the demo's release, fans already knew Monster Hunter Rise would be giving them a new companion option. The popular feline companions, called Palicos, are finally getting a canine counterpart in the form of Palamutes. So, for anyone eager to hunt exotic monsters with a pup pal, a Palamute is a great addition.

Perhaps the biggest new feature in Monster Hunter Rise is Wyvern Riding, which allows players to ride monsters with the help of a new Wirebug tool. This also means players can use monsters in combat, which can definitely change how Monster Hunter Rise is played when compared to previous entries. It's definitely one of the highlights of the demo, and players can try out Wyvern Riding for themselves.

Although Monster Hunter Rise isn't releasing for a couple more months, the free demo on Nintendo Switch offers players a taste of what's to come. It's a great way to see everything the full game will offer, and it should also be enough to get newcomers excited as well. The Monster Hunter Rise demo is only available until February 1st, though, so people will need to act fast if they want to play it.
