The Fur Scrap is a crafting material in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak that Hunters can use to forge Buddy Equipment for their Palicos and Palamutes. More specifically, players can use this material to create the Palico's Sonic Costume and the Palamute's Canyne Tails and Ammy Costume. These Layered Armor Sets are transmog outfits featured in Rise's collaboration with Sonic the Hedgehog and Okami, respectively. Therefore, fans looking to craft these armor sets in Monster Hunter Rise will need to procure several Fur Scraps for their forging needs.

There are two primary ways to get Fur Scraps in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The first way is sending out Meowcenaries to forage and hunt in the Frost Islands. This action can be done by speaking with Chief Kogarashi at the Buddy Plaza and selecting the Frost Islands, including the Palicos and Palamutes to be sent out. After paying the fee in Kamura Points, players will receive the Meowcenary loot haul after completing five quests. Keep in mind that Fur Scraps will not always be available since the loot generated on Meowcenary expeditions is somewhat random.

The second and more reliable method of farming Fur Scraps in Monster Hunter Rise is by trading specific resources with the Buddy Smithy. These Trade-In Materials in Monster Hunter Rise include Warm Pelts, Bullfango Pelts, and Gargwa Feathers.

Warm Pelts are small animal pelts that can be acquired by carving the skin of Kelbi and Anteka. Kelbi most commonly appear in the Shrine Ruins, specifically at Sectors 13 and 11. An optimal farming route would be to land Sub-Camp 1 and go from 13 to 11 while craving the Kelbi that inhabit these areas. On the other hand, Anteka are from the Frost Islands, only spawning in Sectors 1 and 6. Kelbi have a 45% chance of dropping Warm Pelts while Anteka only offer 18%, making Kelbi the superior farm choice.

Bullfango Pelts come from Bullfango, boar-like creatures that reside in Sector 9 of the Shrine Ruins and Sectors 10 and 3 of the Flooded Forest. These beasts in Monster Hunter Rise have a 60% chance of dropping their pelts, making them the most dependable source of Fur Scraps. However, they are less in numbers compared to other neutral wildlife. Finally, Gargwa Feathers are a 25%-chance drop from Gargwa, a dodo-like bird found in Sectors 6 and 13 of the Shrine Ruins. Because the Shrine Ruins has all three of the animal carvings needed for obtaining Fur Scarps, it is the best map for farming for this Buddy Equipment material.
