Leaked performance details for a PC version of Monster Hunter Rise seems to confirm leaks claiming that the presumed Nintendo Switch game will eventually make its way to the more powerful platform. Officially, Monster Hunter Rise has only been announced for Switch for a fast-approaching March of 2021; if it does come to PC, there is no indication from Capcom on when that would happen.

Monster Hunter Rise was announced earlier this year as a follow-up to 2017's Monster Hunter: World. Over the last few months players have gotten some very interesting first looks at the RPG. During the Tokyo Game Show players were shown new gameplay footage that revealed brand new attack styles and items for the series. It seems that hunters will now be able to add brand new aerial attacks to their arsenal. There is also completely different monsters for players to hunt down and tools to collect than in other games in the series.

Capcom has held so far that this iteration in the Monster Hunter series is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, but DSOGaming reports players may be seeing a PC version of Monster Hunter Rise sooner rather than later. In leaked Capcom documents (presumably obtained during the studio's recent ransomware data breach), there's an alleged list of specs and and tech details for a PC version of the game. It appears that the game will allow players to choose between 30fps, 60fps, and uncapped frame rate options, as well as support for GSync and FreeSync. It also seems that Capcom is wanting to avoid forcing the game to play in 720p or 1080p as it likely will on Switch when docked or in handheld mode in order to make it easier to attain higher resolutions in the PC port.

Monster Hunter Rise - three flying monsters in the dark

Many fans around the world are excited for Monster Hunter Rise and a lot of that can be attributed to the mainstream success of its predecessor. Just a few months after it released, Monster Hunter World became Monster Hunter: World became Capcom's all-time bestselling game. The most recent entry almost single-handedly took a series that was fairly niche among a smaller, dedicated audience and catapulted it into the mainstream. This has now paved the way for Monster Hunter Rise to potentially gain even more widespread success, and a multiplatform approach seems like the best way to ensure that.

Monster Hunter Rise is shaping up to be a massive game for the Nintendo Switch, and it seems that players of all types are excited to jump in. As such, it can be hoped that more versions of Monster Hunter Rise really are in the works after a timed exclusivity deal with Nintendo is up.
