In Monkey Meatillustrator and author Juni Ba will take readers on a wild trip following the creatures of Money Meat Island in what's set to be a sharp satire of numerous issues, including capitalism, content culture, and climate change. The anthology is like nothing you've read before.

Juni Ba is an incredibly talented artist and writer who captured attention in the comic world following his graphic novel Djeliya for TKO Studios, a unique mash-up of West African folklore and post-apocalyptic science fiction. Ba has worked with a handful of major publishers, including doing covers for Skybound and Image Comics. In addition, he did an action-packed, energy-filled Bat-Family story starring Damian Wayne for the Truth and Justice series for DC Comics. Now, Ba is bringing a thrilling new anthology series to Image Comics with Monkey Meat. The comic initially started as a 12-page online story before transitioning to its own series.

Image Comics is hyping up Monkey Meat #1, calling it Martin Morazzo's Ice Cream Man meets the satire of Jonathan Layman and Rob Guillory’s ChewFor those who have read those series, you know how absolutely bonkers (in the best way) they are. Monkey Meat #1 looks like the series is going to be a lot of fun while being completely unpredictable. The five-issue series comes to comic book stores on January 5, 2022.
