The trailer for Money Heist season 5, part 2 seems to shake the foundations of the show and teases an emotional conclusion to the series. The series, which is known as La casa de papel in the original Spanish, was created by Álex Pina and debuted in Spain in May 2017. Netflix acquired the show and distributed it beginning in December 2017, splitting the limited run 15-episode season into two parts with a total of 22 episodes. The streaming platform also revived the show for further seasons. Money Heist season 5, the final season, premiered its first part on September 3, with the second part still to come.

Money Heist details the exploits of a group of criminals who plan the greatest heist in the world. The first two seasons (counting them by the U.S. distribution breakdown) detail the trials and tribulation of a brutally prolonged heist at the Royal Mint of Spain, which lasts for many days and involves multiple love affairs, double crossings, and deaths along the way. The final three seasons also focus on one single prolonged heist, this time involving the vault of gold bricks in the heavily guarded Bank of Spain.

Netflix has released the trailer for Money Heist season 5 part 2, which will conclude the series on December 3, 2021. The trailer teases the chain of events that will occur after The Professor arrives at the site of the Bank of Spain. This is the first time the entire team has been together on-site during a heist, without access to a person in the know on the outside, so the dynamic has clearly shifted, drawing everyone inexorably toward an emotional finale. Check out the video below:

Money Heist season 5 features most of the original cast from season 1 of the show. This includes Úrsula Corberó, Pedro Alonso, Itziar Ituño, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Esther Acebo, Enrique Arce, Darko Peric, and Álvaro Morte as The Professor. The Bank of Spain heist storyline also added Najwa Nimri as the callous negotiator Alicia Sierra, with Sense8's Miguel Ángel Silvestre joining for season 5.

The shift around the character of The Professor in these final episodes of Money Heist cannot be overstated. The cool, collected leader of the group who always has a plan B, C and D has let the situation slip out of his grasp this season. It is clear that he needs to find a way to regain control over the situation, or else all is lost. Given how willing the series has been to kill off major characters, however, viewers should be prepared for anything to happen before the show goes off the air for good.
