Allison Janney gives a behind-the-scenes look at Mom as it starts production for season 8. Mom centers around the relationship between mother-daughter pair Bonnie (Janney) and Christy (Anna Faris) as they navigate through a series of adventures.

Janney posted a quick, 29-second video on Twitter, where she gave fans a quick look at the Mom set. In her video, Janney is shown panning the camera selfie-style, giving viewers a peek behind the scenes; moreover, cast members Mimi Kennedy, Beth Hall, and Jaime Pressly all make appearance as well. The most notable aspect of the video is by and far the masks that all cast members are wearing. In addition, Janney states on camera that this is "a whole new territory" that the Mom cast is stepping into, which is likely a reference to the various health protocols now in place due to the ongoing pandemic.

Aside from navigating the ever-changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic, season 8 of Mom will come with another unique change as well. More specifically, the show lost a major cast member when it was announced that Faris would be exiting Mom earlier this month. As a result, Faris' character of Christy must now be written out of the series. That being said, you can check out Janney's cool, insider video below:

Although there seem to be multiple health safeguards in place on the set of Mom, the entire cast appear to be adjusting to them well. Although season 8 of Mom will certainly be produced under extraordinary circumstances, there's little doubt that the cast and crew will band together to produce the witty, refreshing show that fans have come to love.
