A new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was shown during Sony's State of Play event and it has some of the most impressive graphics of any recent title, to the point where it may have upstaged the new footage that was shown of The Last of Us Part IICall of Duty: Modern Warfare is an upcoming entry in the famous first-person shooter series, and it's set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in October.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been shaking up the formula in regards to its monetization and multiplayer options, which includes scrapping the season pass and replacing it with free events and maps for all players. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have crossplay between all systems for the first time, a feature that fans have been asking for, but that's been partly held back by Sony's refusal to allow crossplay on the PlayStation 4 for the longest time.

PlayStation won't receive Call of Duty DLC first anymore, but that hasn't stopped Sony from prominently featuring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in its latest State of Play presentation, which has now been uploaded to the PlayStation YouTube channel. A new story trailer was released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that mostly consisted of footage from cutscenes, but it featured some of the most impressive graphics that have appeared on modern systems. The quality of the facial animations and character models in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is some of the best that's been seen in the series so far, and stood out in a presentation that also featured showings from near-complete builds of Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part II. 

The footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare shown during the State of Play event mostly consisted of cutscenes, but there's also been impressive gameplay footage released in the past. The multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare has proven that the game looks just as impressive in action as it does during cutscenes.

Graphics aren't the be-all and end-all when it comes to a game, and it's entirely possible for an amazing looking game to have horrible gameplay. The trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that was shown during the State of Play event was meant to be about the story, rather than focusing on different aspects of the gameplay or detailing modes that will be available at launch. The trailer looked impressive, but the game still has to follow it up in terms of igameplay. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare had an impressive alpha in regard to both its gameplay and its visuals, so signs are positive that it'll live up to the potential of its most recent trailer.
