After 11 seasons and 250 episodes, Modern Family called it quits this spring. It's been a wild ride getting to know the Dunphys, Tucker-Pritchetts, and Delgado-Pritchetts, but all good things must come to an end.

In the finale, Mitchell and Cameron are making a major lifestyle change, the Dunphys are empty-nesters, and the Delgado-Pritchetts are switching roles. It's an incredibly emotional final episode that's bound to make long-time Modern Family viewers shed a tear or two. To see what fans loved and hated about the series finale, take a look below!

Loved: Cam & Mitchell's Newest Adoption

In the episode before the finale, Mitchell and Cam announced their baby boy was about to be born. In the finale, Mitch and Cam are fully moved into their home and are happy to introduce their little one to their friends at their housewarming party.

Fans were thrilled Cam and Mitch had enough love to share to adopt a new baby. After all, watching them raise Lily was a memorable experience. They'd do just as well with a new little one.

Hated: Everyone Took Advantage Of Phil & Claire

It's understandable that Alex, Haley, Luke, Dylan, and the twins were comfortable at Phil and Claire's. They've lived there their entire lives and they know they're always welcomed home. But with two babies and five adults under one roof, it became too much.

Claire ended up having a meltdown and telling everyone one person had to move out because she and Phil were tired of sleeping in the camper. They all had viable options to succeed outside of the house but turned them down because they were comfortable. They were unintentionally taking advantage of their parents who were clearly unhappy.

Loved: Alex's Happy Ending

After quitting her fancy job to work for someone less impressive, Alex had the opportunity to work with her former professor (and Haley's ex-boyfriend) Arvin.

She ended up accepting the position—which was moved to Switzerland—and started a relationship with him as well. After years of seeing Alex unfulfilled and bored with boyfriends, she finally met her match. Arvin was intelegent, handsome, and had everything she was looking for. It was sweet for fans to see Alex have her happily ever after.

Hated: The Divide Of Three Families

Throughout the finale, all three families were acting like they were never going to see each other again. Gloria and Cameron wrote poems, the Dunphy kids re-created an old video for their parents, and Jay was acting like he would never see Mitch again.

It was clear the actors on the show were having a hard time with the ending of the show as much as the characters were, but life would continue on for the families in the Modern Family world. They would see each other again for holidays and vacations, this wouldn't be the end!

Loved: Cam & Mitchell's Next Adventure

As amazing as Mitch and Cam's new house was, becoming a football coach and moving to the Mid-West has always been a possibility for the family. This job was a dream job for Cameron; a job that didn't come around often.

Mitchell would be able to work from anywhere and Lily was excited to "reinvent" herself, it was the right move for the family even though the timing was off. Although it's sad that we won't see the young family adjust to life in the Mid-West, it's an exciting adventure for them.

Hated: All The Delays

As Mitchell and Cameron were getting ready to make the move to the Mid-West, their travel plans kept getting delayed. With so many delays throughout the day, the families could have had a relaxing barbeque to reminisce on good times. Perhaps former scenes or episodes could come across the screens as the families remembered them.

Instead, the families seemed out of sorts and were trying to adjust to the changes, which put more pressure on the episode. Fans were waiting around wondering if they were ever going to make the move and how many more times they could say goodbye to each other.

Loved: Jay Supporting Gloria To Follow Her Dreams

Between Gloria's newfound love of becoming a realtor and her hot sauce business, she's a busy career woman who loves her second chance.

Luckily for Gloria, Jay supported Gloria's new love of business and became the stay-at-home dad he always judged. Jay staying home, taking care of Joe, and supporting Gloria proves how much Jay has changed for the better.

Hated: So Many Changes In Such A Short Span Of Time

There are only so many things writers can fit into one Modern Family episode. Being short on time, this finale felt rushed. With Cam and Mitch moving out of state and the Dunphy kids and Manny leaving the nest, there was so much going on in a short amount of time.

It was hard to keep up and be in the moment with each character as fans didn't know what to expect next. From the characters acting like they'd never see each other again to all the moves, it was a whirlwind of an episode that should have been longer.

Loved: Jay Learned Spanish For Gloria

Jay smiling on Modern Family

At this point in the series, Jay and Gloria have been married for over 10 years. You would think that Jay would know more Spanish by then considering he didn't know what Gloria was yelling at half the time.

In the season finale, however, Jay revealed that he's been learning Spanish for her and wanted to join her on her family trip to Colombia. It would be a first for the family and was long overdue. Seeing Jay support and honor Gloria the way that he did in the series finale proves how deep their bond is.

Hated: Will Dylan Ever Grow Up?

It's understandable that Dylan is that one character who always acted a little spacey. He's never been the sharpest tool in the shed yet it's who Haley chose to love and marry. As much as Claire hated their relationship, she had no choice but to accept her daughter's choice.

However, after all these years, it would have been nice to see Dylan and Haley a little more settled. He could barely carry boxes into their new apartment and said that he gets clinical testing done now that labs stopped experimenting on animals... As a husband and a father of two babies, it's shocking he hasn't grown up in any form. It would have been nice for fans to see Haley and Dylan more matured and taken care of in the finale instead of still living by the seat of their pants.
