Ariel Winter recently agreed that a Modern Family spin-off about Alex would be a great idea, telling Digital Spy, "That would be pretty cool. I wouldn't be opposed to that. That would be awesome!" Viewers would be happy with any future episodes as all 11 seasons of the show are as funny as they are heartfelt and full of emotion.

While there are many memorable quotes, every season of Modern Family has one particularly silly or significant line that sums up why fans love the show so much, helps develop a character, or moves a story along.

Season 1: Phil Says That He's Cool

"I'm a cool dad... I'm hip, I surf the web, I text. LOL: laugh out loud."

Phil's best Modern Family quotes are a mix of silly jokes and wise thoughts. In season 1, he shares how important it is to him to be a "cool" parent, but of course, he ruins that image by saying "LOL."

It's clear that Phil cares about his kids and wants them to like him and think that he's interesting and fun, and even if he might be silly and awkward sometimes, fans appreciate how much he loves his family.

Season 2: Phil Loves His Real Estate Career

"You know what? You can insult a lot of things about me: my hair, my voice, my balance-board exercises, but don't insult my selling. That crosses a line. What line? Oh, you don't see it? That's 'cause I just sold it."

Throughout the sitcom, Phil opens a magic shop as that is one of his long-held passions, but at the end of the day, he loves selling houses the most. This is the perfect career for Phil as he loves being around people.

Phil's real estate career is shown in a realistic manner as sometimes, he does well and other times, he has trouble moving a house off the market. No matter what, Phil keeps trying his best, a lesson that he wants to impart on his kids.

Season 3: Haley Wants To Go To A Party

"Uh, I have a party tonight. You promised I could go if I got a B on my test. I studied. I read stuff. What was the point of all that?"

Haley Dunphy of Modern Family sitting on the couch and staring into the camera

The season 3 episode "Express Christmas" is hilarious as the family tries to celebrate early, and Haley wonders why she studied hard for a test if she can't go to a party.

While Haley doesn't love school, she gets a great job at NERP and throws herself into parenthood. Haley's character arc shows is relatable as she learns more about herself as she gets older and figures out how to make things work.

Season 4: Phil Talks At School Career Day

"Guess what? I've been in your house when you're not home."

Although Phil can be immature on Modern Family, he takes his career seriously, always happy to be part of his kids' school Career Day. Phil starts off his speech with an awkward comment that is totally him.

While this was the wrong thing to say, viewers can tell that Phil genuinely loves his job and wants to inspire that passion in others. Phil wants the students to think that they can find their own dream career, and his joy for life is definitely motivating.

Season 5: Alex Gets Stressed About School

"I'm stressed. It's my junior year. Part of me feels like the limbic system in my brain's a bit off. That's a thing, right? I looked it up."

The season 5 episode "Under Pressure" is tough for Alex as she shares that she's overwhelmed with school. When Alex sees a therapist, she shares her worry about the future.

This is one of the more serious quotes on the sitcom and shows that Alex has been trying to be perfect for so long, but this isn't making her happy. As Alex gets older, she realizes that it's a good thing that she loves learning, but she can have some fun and find some balance, too.

Season 6: Lily Talks About Where Babies Come From

"You just put eggs and tadpoles in a glass, and the woman has to drink it. Then, the woman and man kiss and jump on their bed. After a year, she pees, and a baby comes out."

Luke and Manny babysit Lily in the season 6 episode "Haley's 21st Birthday" and Lily says this unforgettable quote about how babies are made.

Of course, Lily is so young that she gets this completely wrong, but she goes forward with confidence. Since Lily has such a big family and is observing them all the time, she's trying to think how the process works, and this scene is so charming.

Season 7: Cam Gets Mad At Gloria While Selling Hot Sauce

"This business was my idea. I got you into the farmer’s market. I got you into those baskets. You were nothing but a housewife when I found you."

Cam and Gloria look shocked on Modern Family

In the season 7 episode "Spread Your Wings," Gloria and Cam work together on Gloria's hot sauce company, locating blood peppers. The characters start fighting as they let their egos get in the way. This is a callback to Mitch saying earlier that Cam gets upset during a break-up.

Cam's words are the best quote from season 7 as he lets himself get swept up in an emotional moment and doesn't realize that what he's saying is actually hurtful. This makes the show relatable, as everyone says the wrong thing to family members sometimes. Gloria is strong, smart, and knows that she can do anything that she puts her mind to.

Season 8: Luke Tricks His Parents

"I wanted that sweet ride from the moment I saw it, but I knew my parents would never let me get it. I also knew they'd never keep it if I gave it to them, so... If there were any S.A.T. questions about tricking your parents, I'd be going to college."

It's sweet watching Manny and Luke graduate from high school, and it's hilarious when Luke comes up with a plan: he'll buy a car, pretend to give to his parents, and then wait for them to return the gift to him.

Luke's character development might not seem quite as clear, as he maintains his childlike innocence and desire to have fun at all times even as he gets older. But Luke does grow up and in the series finale, he makes the big decision to go to college. While Luke might still be acting like a kid in this scene, he's beginning the process of growing up, and he can't help but want a fancy car.

Season 9: Jay Wants To Bond With His Family

"I asked for one thing: to share a memory with all of us, with me at the center of us."

The family hanging out by the lake on Modern Family

The season 9 premiere "Lake Life" features a great family vacation as everyone enjoys some time in the sun by a lake. Jay is upset from the beginning as he wants everyone to spend time with him so they always associate him with good times and happiness.

Jay's quote is the best from season 9 as he sounds a bit overly confident and conceited since he wants his family to pay attention to him. Jay's words are sweeter than they seem because he ultimately wants to connect because he loves his relatives, who are really important to him.

Season 10: Dylan Accepts Haley's Proposal

"This is exactly how I imagined it."

Haley and Dylan's Modern Family relationship involves Haley proposing to Dylan in season 10. They're expecting twins and it's amazing to think how far they have come since they dated back in high school.

Fans knew that Haley and Dylan's engagement would be as silly as they are, and Dylan doesn't disappoint with his declaration that he always dreamed of someone asking him to marry them. Even though the couple can be immature, it's moving watching them start a family and start a life together.

Season 11: Haley Gets Emotional About Saying Goodbye

"Who knows when we'll all be together again?"

Mitchell and Jay say goodbye - series finale - Modern Family

It's tough to watch the Modern Family series finale without tearing up as the characters say goodbye to each other with so many of them moving away. Mitch and Cam are heading to Missouri, Manny is traveling, Luke is going to college, Haley is moving out, and Alex is moving for a research job.

When Haley says that it might be a while before the family sees each other, it's an incredibly emotional and heartfelt quote, summing up all of season 11 and the entire sitcom as well. It's also important that Haley says these words as it proves that she is growing up and she appreciates how close her family is.
