Moana actor Dwayne Johnson sings "You're Welcome" to his daughter in a new video. The hit Disney film starred Auli'i Cravalho as the leading character, with Johnson taking on the role of Maui, a demigod. It was a critical and commercial success for Disney, earning two Academy Award nominations. Both the story and music were praised in particular, with many songs written by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. Moana's journey differed from most other Disney "princess" films in that she didn't have a romantic interest, a decision applauded by many. Though Moana 2 hasn't been announced yet, it certainly could happen, considering the success of the first film.

In the meantime, the Moana cast has continued to be a steady force in Hollywood. Cravalho played Ariel in ABC's The Little Mermaid Live! last year. She'll also star in Netflix's upcoming All Together Now movie with Justina Machado and Carol Burnett. Meanwhile, Johnson will soon lead another Disney film, Jungle Cruise, with Emily Blunt. That film is set to debut next summer, as it was unfortunately delayed from its planned release last month due to the coronavirus. He'll also reunite with Blunt for Ball and Chain, an upcoming superhero movie for Netflix where they'll play husband and wife. Additionally, Johnson will suit up for DC's Black Adam movie, playing the title superhero.

Despite Johnson's many projects, he remains appreciative of the time he spent on Moana. This is the case even though his daughter still doesn't believe he was in the movie, as evidenced by an adorable video Johnson shared to Instagram this week. In it, he sings "You're Welcome," his hit song from the film. Check out the video below:

Though it's funny that Johnson's daughter doesn't realize he's Maui, it makes sense, considering it's a voice role instead of one onscreen. Even if Johnson were visible in the movie, though, many actors have spoken in the past about kids not making the connection between a character and their parent. Having a parent or guardian in show business is a unique experience, so it's not surprising some kids, especially younger ones, are a little confused by it.

Even if Johnson may be ready for his daughter to make the Moana connection, it seems like she enjoys "You're Welcome" enough on its own. If Moana 2 ever happens, it seems likely Johnson would return in some capacity. He may even get another hit song to sing to his daughter in the future, resulting in more sweet moments like this one. However, audiences will have to keep rooting for a Moana sequel to make that happen.
