A Mortal Kombat 11 fan and stuntwoman has recreated some of Cassie Cage’s fighting moves to great effect in a new video shared online. NetherRealm’s long-running fighting game franchise has been home to many memorable characters over the years, and players often enjoy cosplaying and roleplaying as Mortal Kombat mainstays like Johnny Cage, Mileena, and even the dreaded insectoid D'Vorah. Some of these cosplay videos and pictures have even caught the eye of Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon, who shares them as he does with cryptic teasers about his studio’s next project or Mortal Kombat DLC character.

One of the more recent additions to Mortal Kombat’s ever-growing roster of colorful combatants is Cassie Cage, the daughter of MK protagonists Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade who is also a high-ranking member of the heroic Special Forces unit tasked with protecting Earthrealm from the forces of Outworld and NetherRealm. Cassie made her first appearance in 2015’s Mortal Kombat X, where she fought alongside her parents as they battled against the wicked sorcerer Shinnok, and even took him down herself in the game’s final boss fight. Cage would return in 2019’s Mortal Kombat 11 as the Special Forces' new commander and team up with both past and present versions of her parents in the battle against the corrupted Raiden and the time goddess Kronika. She is a skilled combatant in her own right, having inherited the mystical Shadow power from Johnny and being trained in combat by Sonya - making her a formidable foe for ninja and time deities alike.

MK 11's Cassie Cage fighting prowess and tactical gear were recently recreated by Twitter user and skilled stuntwoman Sofia Stunts in a throwback video again shared to social media. Some of the maneuvers Sofia reenacts include Cassie’s pre-fight gun twirl from her intro in Mortal Kombat 11, her Kickflip launch attack that is proceeded by a gunshot to the leg of her opponent, and a rib-crunching elbow-knee-kick combo. Intercut between Sofia's performances of Cassie's moves are actual gameplay clips from Mortal Kombat 11, which illustrate how accurate Sofia’s movements are to Cassie’s attacks in the game. So far, Sofia’s video has hundreds of likes on Twitter, with commenting fans suggesting she do moves for every Mortal Kombat character - which Sofia herself says she is currently working on. The full video can be found through the Sofia Stunts YouTube channel.

Fans might get the chance to unleash Cassie Cage’s moves all over again sooner than they think, as recent rumors and social media posts suggest that NetherRealm is currently working on Mortal Kombat 12 now that it has officially stopped making new DLC for MK 11. Details about this new installment of the Mortal Kombat series are still unknown, but rumors hint that it might actually be a remastered version of the previous three MK games consisting of every non-guest MK character featured in them. Meanwhile, fans have been making their own suggestions for special guest DLC characters, including WWE legends like Mick Foley and Kane.

One of the main tenants of Mortal Kombat has always been characters pulling off epic combos and martial arts moves, and it's always impressive to see fans performing them in real life. Sofia Stunts might not be able to launch green fireballs from her hands or dislocate an opponent's jawbone for a gory selfie, but she certainly has Cassie Cage's kicks, flips, and gun twirls down pat in her newest Mortal Kombat 11-themed video.
