Mission: Impossible 7 will feature the most dangerous stunt that Tom Cruise has ever filmed and he's giving a preview with what to expect from it. The actor has made a name for himself for not only doing his own action sequences but also pushing for them to be more thrilling every time. While he's had this mentality in his other blockbusters, it's something that he's fully able to do in the Mission: Impossible films where he plays IMF agent, Ethan Hunt.

Cruise re-teams with director Christopher McQuarrie who returns for the third time to helm an installment since joining the franchise in 2015 via Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation. Plot details are still scant at the moment, but the Mission: Impossible 7 cast will be a mix of new and familiar faces. Returning actors include Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa Faust), Ving Rhames (Luther), Simon Pegg (Benji), and Vanessa Kirby (White Widow). Meanwhile, Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff, Rob Delaney, Indira Varma, and Cary Elwes are joining the series in yet-to-be-disclosed roles. Aside from the actual story of the upcoming spy thriller, there's also anticipation for what ridiculously dangerous action set-piece Cruise the blockbuster will have.

With just a little bit over a year before it hits theaters, marketing for Mission: Impossible 7 is already beginning with a new feature from Empire where the actor provides details for potentially the most dangerous stunt he's ever done. In the interview, Cruise reveals the specifics of the action scene where he rides a motorcycle over the edge of the cliff.

“If the wind was too strong, it would blow me off the ramp. The helicopter [filming the stunt] was a problem, because I didn’t want to be hammering down that ramp at top speed and get hit by a stone. Or if I departed in a weird way, we didn’t know what was going to happen with the bike. I had about six seconds once I departed the ramp to pull the chute and I don’t want to get tangled in the bike. If I do, that’s not going to end well.”

Mission: Impossible 7 Tom Cruise

Initially, the Mission: Impossible 7 stunt sounds tame compared to what Cruise has done before in the franchise. He had hung off of a skyscraper, dangled from a helicopter, and clung to the side of a flying plane among others over the years. It's also worth noting that this won't be the first time that he'll be riding a motorcycle as Ethan almost always finds himself on one. However, as the actor pointed out, there were so many exterior factors that could've made the sequence a deadly disaster. Furthermore, the seamless transition from the bike to the parachute adds a significant layer of complexity.

Filming for the spy thriller has always been difficult due to its elaborate action sets, but production for Mission: Impossible 7 was much trickier as it was the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Principal photography has to shut down in accordance with health protocols and everyone needed to be more extra careful so as not to have an outbreak. So aside from Cruise's stunts, it's also interesting how they're able to pull shooting a film off.
