Mission: Impossible 7 actress Hayley Atwell shares a picture of her impressively ripped physique, likely from training for the action movie. Atwell, best known for playing Agent Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joined the Mission: Impossible franchise last September and will appear in the next two installments. For the most part, details of Atwell's character have been kept under wraps, though she recently shared some teases with director Christopher McQuarrie. All that seems certain right now is that Atwell is poised to be the female lead for Mission: Impossible 7 and 8, and that she has "literally a vibration" with star Tom Cruise.

Mission: Impossible 7 was one of the many productions to be impacted by COVID-19, with filming shutting down back in February. While Cruise hoped to get up and running again by June, the more concrete date appears to be September. Mission: Impossible 7 received a special dispensation from the U.K. government that allows cast and crew traveling into England to avoid the typical two-week quarantine before starting work again. This will help production begin sooner and will hopefully prevent any further delays for Mission: Impossible 7, which was already postponed from July 2021 to November 2021.

Despite the shutdown, Atwell has clearly been keeping up with her training schedule. The actress posted a shirtless photo of her back on social media with the simple caption, "Backbone #missionimpossiblemovie." From that one picture alone, it's easy to see Atwell has gotten pretty ripped. Check out her post in the space below.

This also indicates Atwell's role in Mission: Impossible 7 will be pretty action-heavy, which some might've already guessed since she's the female lead. However, since just about every aspect of Mission: Impossible 7 is currently being kept a secret, any new detail feels like something exciting. Atwell is one of the many newcomers joining the Mission: Impossible franchise; the others include Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, and Esai Morales, who replaces Nicholas Hoult in the villain role.

Atwell has already demonstrated her skill with action scenes in the MCU show Agent Carter, and it'll be thrilling to see her take on another spy role. There's still a lot of curiosity surrounding both her character and the plots of Mission: Impossible 7 and 8, which are operating as a two-part film. It'll likely be some time before McQuarrie or anyone else associated with the productions reveal anything more, but perhaps new details can emerge once filming starts again. If not, audiences will have to wait until next year before they find out who Atwell's character is and what she's doing.
