The first season of Misfits began airing on E4 over 10 years ago in 2009. Five young offenders inherit superpowers from a freak storm while paying their debts to the community. Much like the community service they’ve been ordered to perform, the powers push the group to have a new way of looking at the world.

Even though Misfits is a wacky sci-fi comedy and the characters find themselves in the strangest circumstances, it deals with real hardships of growing up. Kelly’s power to read minds comes with her insecurities about people’s opinions on her. Nathan has a tough shell but struggles with emotional connection. Episode #3.8 - 8.3

Jonas is a medium who brings the spirits of Sally, Tony, and Rachel back to life. The misfits must deal with the ghosts of people they killed in the prior seasons. Rachel kills Alisha for revenge on the group, leading Simon to reveal his identity as Superhoodie.

Simon time travels back to season one so that he can buy a power from Seth. The power gives him immunity to past Alisha’s power, allowing him to touch her and guide her toward the path to falling in love with him.

Episode #2.5 - 8.5

Nathan walks in on Jessica, a girl organizing a charity run, changing in the community center locker room. The lights flicker off and he is subsequently beaten to death in the dark. After surviving the fatal attack because he’s immortal, Nathan warns the gang about Jessica, but Simon begins dating her.

While Alisha struggles with jealously over Simon, Kelly meets Bruno, a gorilla who was transformed into a man. The friends attend a costume party, and the murders of guys Jessica has flirted with are revealed to be the doing of her overprotective father.

Episode #1.5 - 8.5

Sally begins a relationship with Simon with the intention of using him for information about her ex-fiancée’s death. Meanwhile, a baby wandering about the community center has the power of mental manipulation and coerces Nathan into thinking he’s a father. Kelly is able to read the baby’s mind and Nathan snaps out of the trance.

While hanging out at the community center, Sally discovers incriminating evidence of Tony’s murder on Simon’s phone. The two fight for the the phone, and Simon accidentally kills her.

Episode #2.2 - 8.6

Nathan’s half-brother Jamie shows up at the community center looking for him. Jamie has spitefully stowed their absent father in the trunk of his car, but the car is stolen and the brothers have to locate it so the three can make up their differences. The misfits piece together what they know about Superhoodie.

Jamie and the group take pills at a club that reverse the powers acquired from the storm. An accident with Lily’s power causes her and Jamie to combust in a car. Nathan takes Jamie to reconcile with their father, but finds out that Jamie didn’t survive and he’s seeing his ghost.

Episode #2.3 - 8.6

Nathan and Kelly

Superhoodie saves Alisha from being mugged, and she learns that the mysterious figure is immune to her power and can touch her skin without the usual effects. Alisha is determined to uncover the secret identity of Superhoodie. She follows him to his base and discovers that he’s Simon from the future.

Curtis sets off to talk with Nikki, the woman in his vision. Kelly goes to Vince’s tattoo parlor with Nathan and Simon to get her tattoo touched up. Nathan’s commentary irritates Vince, and he uses his power to give Nathan a tattoo that will make him fall in love with Simon.

Episode #2.4 - 8.6

Ollie starts his first day of community service picking up litter with the gang. While on the job, they encounter an unstable man named Tim who is living as Jimmy Cisco, the main character of a violent video game.

He interprets Kelly as his ex-girlfriend and Simon as his nemesis, Conti, in the game. Tim shoots Ollie and the group escapes, but Kelly is later captured by Tim. The group figures out that they must play Tim’s game to rescue Kelly. Superhoodie dies helping the group end the game.

Episode #1.4 - 8.7

Curtis, Misfits

Curtis’s ex-girlfriend Sam blames him for ruining his life when they were caught with cocaine at a club. Sam went to jail for six months, and Curtis was given community service because of his status as an athlete.

He uses his power to reverse time and attempt to fix their mistake. He has no choice but to redo the night over and over again until he finds the best outcome. Sally finds Tony’s credit card in Simon’s locker and becomes more suspicious of the youth doing community service.

Episode #2.1 - 8.8

Misfits Season 2, Episode 1

The group disposes of Sally’s body after her accidental killing. Shaun steps in as the new probation worker. Kelly is hit in the eye with a paper airplane telling her to go to Nathan’s grave. She hears Nathan thoughts from his coffin, the group digs him up, and he says that his power is immortality.

The community center is hosting an art therapy class for mentally ill patients. Lucy is a patient who once knew Simon and formed an obsession over him. She wants Simon to return to the psychiatric unit with her and uses her shape-shifting power to cause conflict between Kelly, Nathan, Curtis, Alisha, and him.

Episode #1.6 - 8.9

Nathan and Simon

An organization called “Virtue” encourages strict morals and a lifestyle of purity in the local youth. Rachel, the leader, acquired the power of suggestion from the storm and uses it to discourage unsuspecting young people from partaking in unvirtuous activities, thereby forming her cult-like organization. Alisha, Curtis, and Kelly fall victim to “Virtue”.

Nathan holds Rachel at gunpoint and insists that she changes the others back to normal. They both fall to their death from the community center roof, and the citizens under Rachel’s influence are freed. The gang grieves over Nathan, who wakes up alive in his coffin.

Episode #2.6 - 8.9

The main cast, Misfits

The probation worker overhears the group’s conversation about superpowers and exposes their abilities to the media. Paparazzi swarm the community center and the group, now dubbed the ASBO Five, is offered a deal for instant fame. They accept the offer and are introduced to other people with powers, including Daisy, who has healing capabilities, and Brian, with lactokinesis.

Brian starts to feel overshadowed by the influx of new people with superpowers seen as more superior to his. He uses his power to go on a killing spree, and Curtis must turn back time to save the group and stop Brian. The ASBO Five finish their community service.
