A Minecraft player has built a robust and seemingly complex TNT launcher that successfully launched them outside of the game's atmosphere. Fans of Mojang's beloved sandbox survival title are still pushing boundaries with their own creations over a decade since its release. From fanmade mods to the frequent updates - such as June's Minecraft The Wild Update - players are constantly finding new and exciting ways to interact with the environment.
Since the initial 2011 release of Minecraft, players have sought to utilize Minecraft's various blocks, creatures, and biomes in the most creative and impressive ways possible. The Wild Update is no exception to this, especially since it added brand new blocks, mobs, and a type of wood to the voxel world. The newer elements are exciting and players are already being creative with them, but more advanced elements such as Redstone are the most used in order to create more complicated and interactive builds, such as this working Redstone escalator in Minecraft.
Recently, another talented Minecraft player has utilized some advanced and complex items in order to build an extremely powerful TNT launcher. Reddit user Rodrickoris posted a video of them putting the TNT launcher to use. The launcher is made from Redstone and other components that create a dispenser to forcefully dispense tons of TNT into the water underneath them. Once the TNT explodes, the player is seen being launched about 5000 blocks into the air, which other players concluded would be about 40.320 meters - meaning Rodrickoris would be outside of Earth's atmosphere.
This feat is no joke, but it is entertaining watching Rodrickoris fall back to the ground for a whole minute while typing random quotes into the chat. Players have gotten creative with TNT in Minecraft before, even making working tanks and other creations, but what's particularly shocking about this launcher is that it's apparently only 1/8 of its power. While Rodrickoris stated that using the full power would crash the game, it would be interesting to see just how far it would launch them up into the air. The community on Minecraft's subreddit has responded positively to this creation, with many asking how they can build it on their own.
Community creations like this TNT launcher in Minecraft's base game are always impressive and take a lot of talent and commitment to pull off. While many players are content to use the tools already in the base game to make unique creations, some have also taken to using mods to get more inventive.
