A big Minecraft fan has created a LEGO-inspired texture pack for the game. This isn’t the first time the popular sandbox game has seen a crossover with LEGO (whether official or fan-made), with the toy company releasing more than a few Minecraft sets in the past, including the humongous LEGO Minecraft Mountain Cave set with almost 3,000 pieces. And like many other LEGO sets, the Minecraft ones cost quite a pretty penny.

It isn’t surprising that LEGO and Minecraft would collaborate on products, as both feature similar themes involving creating things out of blocks. The popularity of Minecraft has grown tremendously since it was initially released almost a decade ago, enough that it has even spawned several spin-off games. On the flip side, Minecraft isn’t the first video game franchise that LEGO has worked with across its over 70-year history. LEGO has also collaborated with the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog to release official LEGO sets this year to celebrate the video game franchise’s 30-year anniversary.

Reddit user u/macio6 shared a preview of their texture pack on the Minecraft subreddit. The preview shows off shots of a few trees and the side of a mountain. Rather than flat textures applied to typical Minecraft blocks, the texture pack makes the blocks look like actual LEGO pieces, with some looking like several layers or pieces put together. Similar to actual LEGO bricks, the blocks also feature the toy company’s logo on the studs. While still a work in progress, u/macio6 has said that the texture pack is coming soon.

According to u/macio6, the texture pack is made for the SEUS PTGI shader pack, which will allow ray tracing even without an RTX graphics card and will work with any NVIDIA graphics card. The shader pack is apparently still in development and hasn’t been publicly released yet, so those who want to try out u/macio6’s LEGO texture pack may have to wait a while unless they release it without the use of SEUS PTGI. Minecraft developer Mojang and NVIDIA released official support for RTX ray tracing for the game on Windows 10 late last year.

There have been quite a few fan-made LEGO-inspired texture packs released in the past but this one is definitely one of the most authentic-looking. With Minecraft’s next official update still a few months away, fan projects like these definitely give players more things to try and be excited about in the game while waiting for official releases.
