It took less than a day for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans to find a game-breaking bug with the newly release Minecraft Steve, and this glitch sends players helplessly through the floor of various stages. Nintendo will likely patch this glitch out of Smash Bros. Ultimate in the coming days, but until then, Minecraft Steve's block placing ability will remain a broken mess.

Minecraft Steve was released late on October 13, and the blocky protagonist started to cause problems almost instantly. From dirty-minded players posting hilariously inappropriate content of Steve online, to pro players exploiting his overpowered move set, it was discovered early on that Minecraft Steve was a mischievous force to be reckoned with. However, players also started to discover the glitches associated with Minecraft Steve and their ability to break the game.

One of these glitches was discovered by Reddit user -BunsenBurn-, and it stems from Minecraft Steve's building ability which allows players to place blocks in empty spaces directly below them. The glitch occurs when Steve places two blocks above one another with a space in between them. If specific characters attack the bottom block, it will send them through the bottom of the stage. This glitch doesn't occur on every stage, but it is almost guaranteed to work on any battlefield or Omega version of stages. It also doesn't affect every character, and players have to attack the blocks in order for them to be affected.

This glitch will likely be patched out of Super Smash Bros. soon, and it shouldn't pose much of a threat until then. During Minecraft Steve's reveal, Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai stated that every stage would have to be updated for Steve's building ability to function properly. This mass update to stages could be the reason for players fall through the floor. The developer likely didn't test this specific situation as it is a bizarre strategy to begin with, and the glitch likely won't have a massive impact on Super Smash Bros., as players will opt to go around Steve's blocks rather than break them.

That being said, a simple scroll through Twitter reveals that Nintendo has a lot to fix with Minecraft Steve. The floor glitch is one of many that players have discovered since Minecraft Steve's recent debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but it is certainly the most disruptive.
