Nintendo had to have known when Minecraft Steve made his way into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that hilariously innapropriate shenanigans would ensue, and one particular standout is the developers' own fault. From poorly placed meat to player-erected statues, Minecraft Steve has turned Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from a family-friendly fighter into something more like can be found at the back of a Spencer's Gifts.

When Minecraft Steve was announced for Smash Bros. Ultimate the internet caught fire. The hype surrounding his reveal caused Twitter to crash after tens of thousands of users flooded the social media platform with their dumbfounded reactions. During his reveal, Masahiro Sakurai expressed that not even he thought he would see the day that Minecraft Steve would make it into Smash Bros. and that designing a character like Steve was one of the hardest tasks he had ever accomplished. Many users pointed out that Mr. Sakurai appeared tired as if creating Steve had worn him down, but maybe Sakurai foresaw the heinous acts of debauchery that would ensue once Steve was released.

Minecraft Steve released late last night, and it didn't even take an hour before players found a way to build phallic statues in Smash Bros. Gamers flocked to Twitter once again to post videos of themselves constructing statues of male genitalia using Steve's building ability. While anyone could have seen this coming, the next inappropriate discovery was due to a design oversight from Nintendo. Users began to post images of one of Steve's victory screens in which he consumes a piece of steak. However, at the end of the animation, Steve holds the meat precariously close to his crotch, and the way the image is cropped by the victory screen border does not look the way that the character's designers must have intended.

Of course, this isn't the first time that the nether regions of a video game character have caused a stir on the internet. Earlier this year, it was discovered that Norman Reedus from Death Stranding was lacking male anatomical bits when players used the PC port to get a frontal view of his pee animation, and a rather scandalous easter egg was found in Paper Mario: The Origami King that was undeniably phallic in nature. Minecraft Steve, however, takes the inappropriately shaped bachelorette's party cake

No shade should be thrown towards Nintendo, however, as these chuckle-worthy instances come from the player's perspective. Minecraft Steve is innocently holding a piece of steak after a hard-fought battle, and the penis statues were built by mischievous players. It's time for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players to get their minds out of the gutter and start focusing on how they are going to counter the behemoth that is Minecraft Steve.
