A Minecraft player recently created a catchy song by using in-game sounds from the sandbox adventure. Of course, this isn't the first time an inventive fan has brought the wonders of song to the ever-popular title from Mojang Studios. The "Still Alive" tune from Portal found its way into Minecraft last year, for example, though it sadly lacked GLaDOS' soothing, mechanical crooning.

Since its release over a decade ago, Minecraft has played host to many an inventive fan-made creation. Players across all platforms have dedicated time to building everything from real-world structures and vast cities to statues and complex crafting systems. Every so often, some users go viral after meticulously drawing up user-created mini-games, a number of which enter the Minecraft Marketplace on occasion. Seablock constitutes one such mini-adventure, serving as a deserted island survival experience. The battle royale-inspired Winter Bed Wars marks another user-generated Minecraft Marketplace creation that's managed to impress its fair share of Minecraft faithful. Sometimes, though, it's the seemingly simple works of art that prove the most captivating.

Recently, Reddit user KaelonDrae shared a clip of their new music creation, a beat made entirely from in-game Minecraft sounds in FL Studio. It's a surprisingly catchy song, too, with parts of the arrangement seeming reminiscent of Jay-Z's "Dirt Off Your Shoulder," the track from the rapper's 2003 The Black Album. Interestingly, KaelonDrae even threw in animal sounds such as a cat's meow in the back half of the video, which align perfectly with the rest of the beat. Listen to it in the Reddit video linked below:

A closer look at text descriptions in the video reveals the creator utilized everything from Minecraft villager sounds and breaking wood to footsteps and chicken audio. Needless to say, it's an impressive feat, one that has some folks in the Reddit thread jokingly, or perhaps not jokingly, asking for an extended release of the track on music streaming platforms.

Inventive fan-made creations aside, Minecraft has enjoyed a great deal of incredible content releases in the last year or so. In 2021, developer Mojang Studios rolled out Caves and Cliffs, a two-part update that drastically changed the fabric of the sandbox experience. Caves and Cliffs Part 1, for example, introduced new plants, creatures, and block types. When Caves and Cliffs Part 2 launched in November, the title received eight extra biomes, the long-gestating addition of candles, and terrain expansions that increased the size of mountains and elaborated on the in-game cave system.
