The official online servers for Minecraft Realms are down, making it impossible for players to jump into their worlds. The outage has been reported by multiple Minecraft Realms subscribers who are frustrated that despite paying a monthly fee, they cannot reach their Minecraft worlds. For many, those worlds contain incredible builds, and not being able to access them can be extremely disheartening. Posts describing the issue flooded Twitter Thursday and the issue has yet to be resolved.

Minecraft Realms is a subscription service offered in the Bedrock edition of the gamegiving players a private world to build, explore, and battle alongside friends. The service is different from Minecraft servers that are hosted on separate platforms, and those have been completely unaffected by the outage. Minecraft Realms has been around for over seven years, giving players plenty of time to craft, create, and advance in their worlds. With the lockout, players are unable to access the amazing locations they’ve built.

First reported by PolygonMinecraft Realms is completely unavailable for some players, but the reason for the outages is currently unknown. Players took to Twitter to share their experience and frustration with the lockout, some claiming they haven’t been able to access their realms in over twenty-four hours. While there has been no confirmed time for the start of the outage, reports indicate that Minecraft Realms servers have been down for over ten hours at publication time. Mojang has since acknowledged the outage in a Tweet.

Mojan engineers are reportedly investigating the reports of Minecraft Realms being down, but no solution or ETA on a fix has been shared so far. The news comes only a day after Minecraft developers announced a delay for half of the Caves & Cliffs update. The reason for the Realms outage is currently unknown, and it's likely not related to the delay of the new content. The issue has also not been confirmed to be a lockout for all Minecraft Realms players, but there are enough reports that the issue has garnered the attention of the Mojang staff.

The outages are frustrating and scary for players who have had their Minecraft Realms for years, having spent hours and hours developing it. Permanently losing those wild and wacky creations is likely a terrifying thought for those affected, so hopefully Mojang can quickly and painlessly resolve the its server problems.
