Even regular Minecraft landforms can be exciting if approached creatively, as demonstrated by a crafty player who’s turned one ravine into an underground trading city. With the upcoming release of the Caves & Cliffs update, there will be many more subterranean structures to unleash players’ creativity.

A few days ago, Mojang delivered the bittersweet news regarding the anticipated release of the Caves & Cliffs update. While it’s coming out relatively soon, this summer, it’ll be split into two separate packs. The first part, which is releasing in a few months, will only include new blocks, mobs, and crafting recipes. Basically, everything that was planned for the full release, excluding the most exciting part - the revamped caves and mountains generation system. This content will only be ready by the end of the year, coming out this holiday season. The reason for this decision is the overwhelming complexity of the system, which requires additional time to be perfected. But players are still finding ways to be entertained while waiting for these content updates.

After discovering an ordinary ravine in Minecraft, a talented player named SchwarzerRidder on Reddit decided to turn it into something special by building a shopping street beneath the surface. The result, which looks absolutely stunning and even hosts a casino, is strangely reminiscent of Harry Potter’s famous Diagon Alley as it is also hidden from direct view. But according to the player, the project’s architectural style was inspired by modern cities like Rotterdam, barring the underground location. Understandably, the player-built trading area does not sell magic wands and robes, but it nonetheless makes a supernatural impression. According to the player, the subterranean shopping street was built on a private Minecraft server, so it can actually serve its direct purpose if anyone decides to claim a shop for themselves and start selling goodies.

For the majority of Minecraft fans, building impressive projects is just a passionate hobby, but sometimes, creative talent can be turned into a profitable business. For instance, an enterprising group of Minecraft players is providing paid services of creating massive in-game structures, whole cities, and even skin packs. There’s a special website where any unskilled gamer can place an order and receive a mesmerizing result. The store also offers some pre-built projects, which is an easy and quick solution for arranging a custom server map.

The incredible shopping area located in a ravine is a vivid example that impressive Minecraft projects do not necessarily have to be massive to amaze. It is a relatively small, cleverly hidden build, which looks as if it’s patiently waiting for a random adventurer to discover it. And that’s the beauty of the game, which makes anything look magical if there’s enough creativity put to it.
