For those Minecraft players who are having difficulty finding or producing food in their game, one ingenious player has managed to find a solution thanks to a bit of trickery. By exploiting a glitch but also using several in-game mechanics, a player shows how to create a farm that can produce over 1 million food items in an hour.

Minecraft is a game that opens the sandbox to players who want to express their creativity. Many do so by using the world as their canvas to create beautiful works of art, but others spend hours in Minecraft building complicated machines, automated farms, and other contraptions that make their day-to-day life a bit easier. For instance, one Minecraft player managed to build an automated beehive farm, which would allow them to collect honey quickly and automatically. While honey has many uses and is a fine food source within Minecraft, for those players looking for heartier fare, it seems one player has set a new standard for farms.

Shared on Reddit by user The_Duck_001 on behalf of their friend, this massive creation uses glitched portals to transport hoglins from Minecraft's mysterious and dangerous realm, the Nether, to the Overworld. Once there, the hoglins fall out of the portal to their death. Hoglins will drop 2-4 raw pork chops on death, and these pork chops will drop as cooked pork chops if the hoglin dies while on fire (as is the case with this farm), so the player can get a ton of edible food from this renewable farm. According to The_Duck_001, the farm can produce over 1 million food items per hour.

While it's unclear how this farm works, it appears to require the use of glitched Nether Portals, as hoglins will naturally avoid these portals. In addition, other Minecraft players in the comments expressed curiosity that these portals continue to operate without crashing the game, which hints that some sort of glitch to help unit suppression to reduce lag. While The_Duck_001 and their friend haven't posted any sort of build tutorial for this farm, players in the comments are clearly intrigued, asking for a way to craft this farm.

Even though this farm seems like a cool build, renewable sources of food are not actually that hard to come by in Minecraft. A well-kept plot of farmland can produce food like wheat, carrots, and potatoes that can keep the player's character satiated with ease. However, it's quite the testament to ingenuity and creativity that such an efficient farm was built in Minecraft.
