Developer Mojang Studios reportedly has two new Minecraft projects in production, neither of them related to Minecraft Dungeons or the base experience. Most people home in on the core Minecraft title when thinking of the wildly popular Mojang-developed brand; however, a few spinoff releases have captured the hearts of fans, as well.

In 2015, for instance, TellTale Games deployed Minecraft: Story Mode, an episodic series that offered the franchise its first-ever narrative-driven adventure. The likes of Patton Oswalt, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, and Corey Feldman were part of the star-studded cast; many of them returned for a second season that hit digital storefronts in 2017. Minecraft's most recent spinoff, Minecraft Dungeons, took the property in yet another completely different direction, providing players with a procedurally generated dungeon crawler boasting hack-and-slash combat mechanics. Apparently, the crew at Mojang Studios isn't finished experimenting with the myriad possibilities.

Citing "trusted sources," Windows Central's Jez Corden claims more Minecraft is in the works at Mojang. The studio has "at least two all-new [Minecraft] projects" in development, Corden added, though neither one bears any relation to the main title or the dungeon crawler Minecraft Dungeons. The journalist couldn't offer much in the way of concrete information about the supposed titles, give that he remains unaware of what exactly the new experiences will entail.

As is always the case, such rumors should not be taken at face value, especially since there currently exists no corroborating evidence to support the claims in question. That Mojang Studios may have multiple Minecraft projects in production doesn't sound too far-fetched, though. The franchise continues to thrive, after all; plus, the sky is the limit in terms of which genres it could break into next.

Players who continue to explore the base title received quite the treat in June, when Mojang rolled out the long-awaited Caves & Cliffs: Part I update. The fresh content release most notably unlocked access to additional crafting items, new animals, extra plant life, and much more. Now users patiently await the second part of the Caves & Cliffs update, which will introduce world generation-related changes such as new biomes and an increased world height. The Part II content presently boasts a late 2021 launch window.
