A new mod for Minecraft lets the player play as Marvel's Moon Knight, paired with several of the character's powers including the iconic Crescent Darts. Moon Knight found immediate popularity when the series of the name same debuted on Disney+, with ratings comparable to the successful debut of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Now, the avatar for Khonshu appears to be making his way into Minecraft.

Minecraft is a game that is well-known for its expansive list of mods and texture packs. While most of these mods are gameplay-focused, giving players the opportunity to explore the world with new abilities and powers they otherwise do not have, some help to bring content from other games to Minecraft. For instance, one mod transformed Minecraft into an Elden Ring clone. A new mod is helping to bring Minecraft together with one of the biggest franchises in the world.

YouTuber Slogo showed off the Minecraft Moon Knight mod along with two speedrunner friends, Jelly and Crainer. The mod didn't just make Slogo's character look like Moon Knight, it also gave him several of his powers and tools. Firstly and most recognizably was the Crescent Darts, which Slogo could launch like a boomerang only for it to pop right back into its inventory once it landed. When used against the other players, the attack is evidently strong enough to take out half of their health with one hit. The second power was called Konshu's Stare, referencing the god with a bird skull for a head who originally gives Moon Knight his powers, which is a freezing power. Finally, he got the Hunter's Compass, which pointed him toward the other players as opposed to the usual Minecraft compass that just points to the player's spawn point. In addition, as seen when Slogo checks his inventory, the character is given permanent boosts in speed, strength, and jumping.

Not unlike Moon Knight looking for the statues of Egyptian gods before his enemies can steal them, Slogo's goal was to hunt down a trophy before Jelly or Crainer could destroy it. This mirrors Minecraft players who are often searching for the precious Totem of the Undying item. When held, the Totem prevents players from dying and, importantly, lets them hold onto their items for a brief time as they try to escape the situation.

Minecraft modders once again take advantage of the vast possibilities to be had within the game By taking the things that they love, such as Moon Knight, they turn their passion into a new way to experience Minecraft. Perhaps as the Moon Knight series continues we will see more such mods in the future.
