Mojang Studios recently announced a new Minecraft DLC for Bedrock edition, themed around the DreamWorks franchise How To Train Your Dragon. The DLC, which is already live in the Minecraft marketplace, can be purchased for 1340 minecoins and adds a host of new locations, characters, quests and items to the game.

In the years following its release, Minecraft has seen the release of over a dozen major updates, and the game is almost constantly receiving small adjustments and tweaks to existing content. The Caves & Cliffs update, releasing in two parts throughout 2021, aims to add new biomes, mobs and blocks to Minecraft. The first half of the update is planned to be released in the summer, and the latter half will come out during the holiday season. Mojang Studios announced that splitting the release into two parts would allow for better quality and optimization of technical challenges.

Dungeons' new DLC is named Hidden Depths and is themed around oceanic exploration. Hidden Depths is the fifth expansion released for the game, and will feature new enemies as well as a new quest.

What's In Minecraft's New How To Train Your Dragon DLC

Various locations from the How To Train Your Dragon franchise will be featured in the Minecraft DLC, including the islands of the Barbaric Archipelago and the island of Berk, where players will be able to participate in new adventures and missions. These quests involve characters from the series such as Hiccup, Astrid, and Stoick the Vast, who players can team up with. Also added are several dragon species from the films that are available to tame, collect and ride. The game's new areas can be accessed both on foot or via dragon flight. Other gameplay features include the ability to attack ships to free trapped and captured dragons.

The Minecraft DLC adds 24 new skins as well as a free character creator item - Hiccup's peg leg - for players to use.
