The Heart of the Sea is a rare item in Minecraft primarily used for crafting the Conduit, an underwater beacon-like device that grants players the ability to breathe underwater, possess night vision, and have increased mining speed while swimming. A Conduit is an excellent tool for those who enjoy spending time in a particular body of water or wish to build marine structures in Minecraft. However, the Heart of the Sea can be rather tricky to find since it is a non-renewable item, meaning it cannot be obtained through crafting or trading. The only way to get the Heart of the Sea in Minecraft is by discovering it in Buried Treasure.

Buried Treasure is a naturally generated structure that can contain valuable chest loot such as Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots, TNT, Diamonds, and the Heart of the Sea. Fortunately, the Heart of the Sea has a 100% chance of spawning in a Buried Treasure Chest. Therefore, uncovering one of these chests is a guaranteed find for this rare item. To locate Buried Treasure in Minecraft, players will need to procure a Buried Treasure Map.

Unlike Explorer Maps, Buried Treasure Maps cannot be traded with Village Cartographers. Conversely, they only generate in Underwater Ruins or Shipwrecks. Shipwrecks in Minecraft resemble classic ocean vessels or caravels sunken into the sea and can spawn upright, keeled sideways, or upside-down. Players can find Shipwrecks in all Oceanic biomes, even above sea level. These structures can also appear immersed in an Ocean Monument, Iceberg, Underwater Ruins, or ravine. Underwater Ruins, also known as Ocean Ruins, are aquatic structures primarily composed of stone bricks or sandstone.

If Minecraft fans discover a Shipwreck, there's a 100% chance they will find a Buried Treasure Map in one of its loot chests. However, the chests within Underwater Ruins only have a roughly 40% chance of generating the map. If players have trouble locating either of these structures, they can feed Dolphins Raw Cod or Raw Salmon. This action will cause the animal to swim to the nearest Shipwreck or Ocean Ruins. It is even possible for a passive Dolphin mob in Minecraft to lead players to Buried Treasure, yet this scenario is a much rarer case.

After finding a Buried Treasure Map, go to the red X sign displayed on the chart. The player can know where their position is in relation to the Buried Treasure by checking their white marker on the map. After arriving at the X, dig up the chest and loot its contents to acquire the Heart of the Sea in Minecraft.
